Independence eLearning allows you to take control of your own learning. This means you can learn at your own pace and in your own :me. Accessibility Technology has never developed so quickly. eLearning provides a mobile learning environment that you can access any:me, anywhere and on any device you wish. Either on your laptop computer, tablet or smart phone, all of the learning resources are in one place so there is a single source of informa:on that you can access around the clock.
Effec1ve Learning The use of visual and audio resources in our eLearning courses means that you retain more informa:on than tradi:onal learning. The Environment Britain’s Open University study found that ‘producing and providing distance learning courses consumes an average of 90% less energy and 85% fewer C02 emissions per student than conven:onal face to face courses’.
As a students on this course you can interact with your classmates via an online forum and have regular online contact with the lecturers and clinicians who contribute to the course delivery. The resources that support learning include web based materials, video lectures, video interviews with pa:ents and carers, interac:ve PowerPoint presenta:ons and an online interac:ve forum. These will be further explained in this booklet. The aim of this COPD module is to enable health professionals to cri1cally explore
current evidence in rela1on to COPD and apply this to a range of complex situa1ons. This enables competent assessment, planning, delivery and evalua1on of the
specialist care that individuals with COPD require.
