AGRU Kunststofftechnik GmbH is a family-owned, highly productive enterprise headquartered in Austria with worldwide activities. These include the production and sales of high-quality thermoplastic products. One of our core competences are piping systems made of polyethylene (PE). Cooled storage of food and beverage is getting more important due to higher requirements on the freshness and hygiene. To avoid high energy costs because of temperature losses from the pump to the refrigerator it’s necessary to install a piping system which provides perfect thermal insulation pro-perties and is easy to install.

As a solution AGRU offers the Coolsafe pre-insulated piping system. This system out of PE 100 is specially designed to optimise the whole secondary cooling circle with minimised installation costs.

The product

The AGRU Coolsafe product line is a double containment piping and fitting system out of high grade PE 100 material with insulation foam between the inside and the outside pipe. A later insulation of the media pipe is not necessary, the insulation foam is protected against UV radiation and surrounding conditions by the outside pipe. Due to the low weight and the well known and proven welding methods like simultaneous butt-welding or electrofusion welding the installation is very safe and the installation times are very short.

Applications

The main applications are pipelines for the secondary cooling system of food and beverage production, cold stores, commercial refrigeration, cooling applications in commercial buildings, pharmaceutical industry and data storages. For all these applications it’s necessary to have a reliable and leakproof system. Therefore PE 100 is the perfect material. The welding methods are well known for long times and proved many times in practice.
