“Recent trends in nonfiction circulation are holding
steady. Five years ago, cooking took over the top spot
from health/medicine, and its position is even
stronger now. Since 2008, the number of respondents
citing cooking among the top five nonfiction
circulators has risen from 59 percent to 79 percent on
average, and it dominates in all types of libraries—
urban, suburban, and rural. (Is it all those hot chefs?)”
