Lenses and Light

• Lenses are curved pieces of glass that can be convex or concave.

• Concave lenses cause light rays to spread out (diverge).

• Convex lenses cause light to come together (converge) to a focal point.

• Make-up mirrors are concave and magnify

• Concave mirrors are used in reflectors, spotlights, and headlights focus light into beams

• Convex mirrors curve outwards and are wide angle mirrors.
