Controllers with systemAt the core of the Berghof building auto-mation system is the BACnet Building Controller EC Compact with its numerous I/Os and interfaces. The PLC program on the EC Compact controls and visualises all processes within the system, communi-cating smoothly with all levels.

Integrated concept

The BACnet Building Controller is based on a uniform BACnet concept currently being certifi ed. Everything is integrated and designed to be user-friendly and straight-forward in operation, from the tried and tested BACnet stack on the controller right through to the BACnet confi guration in the CODESYS V3 IEC61131-3 programming tool.

CODESYS – total management with just one tool

CODESYS is a reliable standard soft ware tool which can be used to manage all auto-mation soft ware. From control to commu-nication to target and web visualisation, all areas are covered with just one tool. Communication plays an important role here, and established communication pro-tocols like EtherCAT, CANopen or Modbus are provided. In building automation the BACnet network protocol also plays a role, with the compact unit making the entire

building automation possible. This means effi cient soft ware development as well as a clear and structured system overview, even when debugging. Errors can be identifi ed signifi cantly faster and be rectifi ed more easily than is the case with conventional systems.

Open system

The open control architecture guarantees fl awless communication between diff erent manufacturers’ equipment, thus providing maximum autonomy.

Reliability coupled with the assurance of long-term availability

Control solutions using the BACnet Buil-ding Controller EC Compact are available on a long-term basis. The controllers, which have been developed by Berghof, are based on proven and reliable hardware and soft ware.
