• Non-destructive radiographic testing of welds in the Riser Shaft and ground penetration radar scanning for potential voids behind the steel and concrete linings in areas identified as potential leakage sources.

• Undertake welding repairs of welds in existing steel linings and throttle plate in the Surge Shaft Riser Shaft.

• Contact and cavity grouting of any voids detected behind the linings.

• Corrosion protection of portions of steel linings which had undergone weld repairs and corrosion protection repairs in areas where the existing corrosion protection in the Riser Shaft has failed or suffered damage.

• Ancillary works such as installing access from top and bottom of shaft and providing measures to protect existing equipment in the Valve Chamber and access adits.

• Checking adequacy of work done upon refilling of the System and undertaking any additional grouting if considered practical.
