INTRODUCTION

1.1. Purpose and Direction As per requset from PT. Katexindo Citra Mandiri by an e-mail datel July 27th 2012, to do existing roof survey and checking the strength of the roof structure for PT. Katexiondo fabric, be located at Kawasan Berikat Nusantara, blok D no.29. The direction of this job to find out the maximum load can be support with the existing roof structure, and the limit of additional load can be added. 1.2 Work Methode In order to make the purpose and direction will be sucess, we do an angeneering survey at site, for collecting actual data and find out the conditon of the building. The survey methode with measuringthe steel members dimension and compare with the drawing as we received before. Make a skceth, estimate the loading data as per exisitng equipment. And make the documentation for calculation reference. To make engineering calculation we use computer program, that is ETABS and Micrisoft Excel for spread sheet. 2. Whereas recomendation the additional load maximum until 15kg/m2 , for roof material, the purlin material shall be changed to be use C 125.50.20.3,2, with the calcualtion as below:

RESUME :

-

The Existing Roof Structure is strong enough to support the loading of roof cover and hanging material, but susceptible to be over strength and over bending if added load until maximum 5 kg/m2 for roof cover material.

-

Especially for the purlin that use Channel 125 x 50 x 20 x 2,3; regarding the technical calculation indicate susceptible to be over strength and over bending if added load until maximum 5 kg/m2 for roof cover material.

-

Recomendation for purlin if will be added with roof cover material load until 15kg/m2 shall be used Lip Channel 125 x 50 x 20 x 3,2. When the loading of roof structure to be added 5 kg/m2 until 15 kg/m2, the column indicate slenderness, that can be solve with added stiffener plate each 2m betwen web and flange, use plate 6mm thickness.
