Exceptional StrengthThe strength of the Continuous Wire Basket is based on severalunique features. One continuous length of wire is woven into apattern of vertical and horizontal spirals welded at as many as 96points. The distribution of stress minimizes chances of weldbreakages. The vertical ribs of the Braun basket are contained andreinforced by horizontal ribs located on the outside of the basket.The verticals are tightly sandwiched between the tree ball itself andthe noose like horizontals. As a consequence of the "sandwichdesign", the overall strength and durability of the basket ismultiplied and reinforced.

Wire Baskets Made to Measure UpBraun lists all measurements of each size and style of basket which is needed when

correctly sizing basket to root ball.These dimensions are listed as:

Measurement is the diameteracross the top ring of the basketbetween the loops

Loops on Daisy or Ball Boy forma circle. On 4 or 5 Loop themeasurement is between loops,on 6 it’s tip to tip.

Is the distance between the topand bottom rings of the basketmeasured at a 90° angle straightup and down.

Is the diameter of the bottomring.

The following basket styles are available in OPEN or WELDED, and PENTABOTTOM.

Continuous Wire BasketsTM

Designed for pigtail crimpsThe malleable wire, chosen for the Continuous WireBasket ranges from 12 gauge on the 14 inch baskets,to 5 gauge on the 122 inch baskets. Strength and"crimpability" are provided without the breakagecharacteristic of brittle hard wire. Crimping of a fewpoints, performs the dual function of tightening thewire basket around the tree ball and by virtue of the"pig tail" style crimp, tightens the lacing to a degreeimpossible by hand. The superior tightness isachieved because a crimp in the single strand basket,pulls the entire basket together like a tourniquet.This eliminates the numerous, time consuming Zcrimps normally used. Both the horizontal andvertical wire can be "pig tail" crimped. The onlypart of the basket that should not be crimped is thetop loop. The pigtail crimps stay in place assuringthe arrival of a tight, neat rootball at the finaldestination.

BOTTOM type is indicated in our brochure with an O, W, or P.

In response to requests from professional diggers, we have developed awire basket that is suited for application around a root ball.

The “WRAPPER” is a handy basket for odd shaped root balls, forareas inaccessible to tree spades, for reballing heeled in trees.

Application of the “WRAPPER” is easy. Place it around the root ball;close like a belt and pigtail crimp to tighten.

The lighter gauge, malleable wire chosenfor the Continuous Wire CUSTOM Basket ranges from 12 gauge on14 inch baskets to 10 gauge on the 32 inch baskets. Rigorous fieldtests of the light wire baskets have proven reliable.NOT RECOMMENDED THAT THEY BE LIFTED BY THE LOOPS.
