House StyleThe main colours are red, white and black as it is made the main colours of the brand in order for this to be easily recognisable and attract amongst audiences and fans for them to buy the magazine which is the same for the front cover. The red colour is used as it is the most recognisable colour out of the 3 main colours and would make us identify as a trademark of the page. The black colour is made to create a contrast from white especially from the top corner we can find that this is the first thing that the audiences will see and has used red and white to make this compatible. The white colour is used in order for the black writings to be very readable and clear. By red and black being together this represents rebellion relating this to the impact of the magazine of rock fans in order for them to feel that the magazine is for them to buy.

Design BalanceThis page shows an informal balance; the texts or descriptions in this contents page seems to be similar with the amount of size by being used at the far right and far left side of the page.

Use of rule of thirdsThis page uses the rule of thirds from the optical area it shows more features. It has uses a masthead with the title of the band index at the entire row and the heads of the artists on the images as this will be the first part where the audiences will look at.

ImageryThis image is divided into two for us to see a clearer image of the band as if they are put together, the audiences may not see a clearer image wen tried to fit in. The bands in the magazine are very popular and we can see a clear image of their faces making this to attract the fans and audiences and buy the magazine. These images are divided into two splitting these two images that are meant to be together. This may have been done in order for us to see the instruments they play and again the faces. This image contains a red lighting as it is in the concerts although when taken it should be dark but we can see they used a special lighting effect in order for us to have a clear view.

Design SymmetryThey have used good balanced composition and have been divided into sections although he title has a wide space at the top. This has been done in order for the audience to firstly recognise especially a very dark black covering that column.

Use of rule of thirdsIn this page, it has used the rule of thirds, at the primary optical area at the top this focus on Beyoncé and the brand name of the magazine. Also in the same row it all focuses on the heads of these artists which the audiences are supposed to firstly recognise.

ImageryIn this contents page we find that the main image is set in black and white and is much bigger than the other image. The reason for this might be a tribute to the artist or singer and this image relates to the brand of the magazine and is the main focus and issue of the page. This magazine is called Rolling Stone which again relates to the old band during the 1960’s. We can tell that this picture is taken during that time as the quality seems to be poorer in contrasted with the modern image we can find at the left side and is smaller. Although set in black and white, it’s very clear of what these two people are doing and also it shows their facial expression and enjoying their selves which makes the fans feel the same way. The secondary image is also seen and has used actual colours in order to reveal that this is taken the modern days, especially one of the famous singers what many people would find is issued in order for the audiences and fans to buy the magazine.

House StyleThe main colours of this magazine are white, black and pink. The most colours we can find in this would be black and white as it uses a lot more of description than the image we can see visually. If the audiences or fans are interested at the image, the majority would want to read more about the details of the issue.

Design BalanceThis page shows an informal balance; we find that this is split in half from the right part of the page covers up about 60% of the page which entirely focuses more of the image whilst the left side covers about 40% which focuses more on the text.

Design SymmetrySymmetry is found from the main image of the Mise en scene used such as the tuxedos that these two singers are wearing and is both at the same position. This shows an informal balance of how the man on the left appears to be taller than the other man on the right.
