The Virtus Seating System is designed to meet the needs of wheelchair users who have an inability to maintain a symmetrical and unsupported sitting posture.

The Virtus has a dynamic backrest option which permits the user to extend safely, whilst ensuring their posture is returned to neutral.

The Virtus is fully adjustable allowing the seat to grow with the individual, thereby continuing to meet postural needs, whilst also ensuring a cost effective seating solution.

Pelvic Support GuidesTo ensure that the pelvis remains in a laterally neutral position: reducing the tendency of the pelvis to move obliquely or to rotate (which can lead to wind sweeping of the lower limbs).

To stabilise and anchor the pelvis and reduce the tendency to adopt in a poor posture.

Lateral Supports maintain trunk support and alignment.

Provision of foot support in both height and angle adjustability enables the user to maintain sitting stability.

Good pelvic stability starts with the right cushions. Comfort is integral to sustaining functional posture. Like the backrest cushion, the seat cushion can be shaped to meet the needs of the user. The cushion allows immersion of the ischial

tuberosity, helping to prevent forward excursion, adding comfort and maintaining skin integrity.

ConclusionThe Rollercoaster head support has been successfully fitted to a wide range of seating systems and posture management equipment including CAPS, Gill Seating Systems, R82, Xpanda and Leckey Advanced seat units. It has also been fitted to Rea Assist and Chunc wheelchairs together with Chailey toilet seats from Smirthwaites.

• This kit has been subject to a successful Frontal Impact Test and is suitable for clients during transportation in motor vehicles.

• A fully adjustable kit that is able to provide excellent head support.

• Easily attaches to wheelchair backrests.

• Each kit comprises of Mounting frame, backrest mounting clamps, headrest mount and Type D headrest with multi axis cranked stem.

The Quick Release Mounting Frame is designed to achieve the following points:

• Attachment of headrests onto wheelchairs with canvas backrests. Headrest mounting bracket is designed to accept various headrests with either 13mm or 16mm square mounting brackets.

• Attachment of harness top straps onto wheelchairs with canvas backrests. This is height adjustable to ensure the correct harness position to maintain a good upright posture.

• Maintains backrest tension by preventing movement in the backrest tubes. Mounting frame is fully width adjustable to suit a wide range of wheelchairs.

• Head support can be used whilst being transported in a motor vehicle. Has successfully been tested in Frontal Impact Test.• Mounting brackets are designed to fit directly onto the wheelchair backrest frame or onto the wheelchair backrest with

a wrap around backrest canvas.

• Cross brace frames are supplied with upper harness webbing guides as standard.

It has a number of horizontal straps which may be used to tension the back support to different degrees at different levels. The standard seat canvas supplied with a wheelchair has a tendency to stretch and sag, providing insufficient support. A Drop In Seat may be used as an alternative.

When using a Drop In Seat, the original wheelchair seat canvas is removed and a rigid seat board, mounted on four drop-hooks, is mounted directly onto the wheelchair frame. Virtually any choice of cushion may then be mounted onto the seat board inconjuction with lock and latch supplied separate at an additional cost.

A Drop In Seat also allows the fitting of positioning accessories like pommels.
