LUCIANA JURY

Is a singer, guitar player and composer born in Buenos Aires province, Argentina.

Since she was born, she cultivated through her family the love for Argentine folk music, the music from the roots. Luciana grew up in the border where the city ends and the coun-tryside begins, in that suburban universe where tango, cumbia, rock and folk music coex-ist. Her musical choices and her style are a reflection of this landscape. She engages Lat-in-American music, although she’s undoubtedly a versatile artist that dares to add her own signature to any music style, characterized by an intense and profound interpretation.

Luciana interprets anonymous songs transmitted through oral tradition, as well as songs from renowned composers such Simón Díaz, Violeta Parra, Lhasa de Sela and Francisco Canaro, and songs of her own.

Especial Performances

In 2015 Luciana is designated as the curator of “Somos Todas” (“All of Us”), TV show trans-mitted by Canal 7 Public Station on the International Women’s Day.

Also in 2015, Luciana is chosen by the National Department of Culture, the “Cultural Equi-ality” Program and the Executive Committee against Human Trafficking as the curator for the poetry and music event “Se Trata de Nosotras” (“It’s About Us”), which brought together more than 25 musicians to numerous stages around the country: San Marcos Sierras (Córdo-ba), San Rafael (Mendoza), Mar del Plata (Buenos Aires Province) and Villa María (Córdoba).

Tribute to Mercedes Sosa “Traigo un pueblo en mi voz” at the Symphonic Theater “La Ballena Azul” (The Blue Whale) of the Kirchner Cultural Center.

Luciana participated with Gabo Ferro and some of the most representative figures of Argen-tine popular music, in the movie “Zonda: Argentine Folk Music”, directed by the award-win-ning filmmaker Carlos Saura.

In 2015 she’s invited to participate in the tribute to Mercedes Sosa “Traigo un pueblo en mi voz” (“I Bring A Nation in My Voice”), which took place in the Symphonic Theater “La Ballena Azul” at the Centro Cultural Kirchner. Liliana Herrero, Fabiana Cantilo, Hilda Liz-arazu, Ramona Galarza, Julia Zenko, Nadia Larcher and the National Symphonic Orchestra directed by Popi Spatocco, also participated in the event.

Soundcheck:

The soundcheck takes 40 minutes after al cable and microphone connections are finished, with a sound operator provided by the contracting party. If a sound engineer is provided by the artist, it will be previously communicated.
