GREEN CUP CLAIM YAVAPAI

Garry Lee Tiffany was in for results on rocks sent to the Arizona Bureau of Mines. A letter from Bob O'Haire is attached. The samples are from Mr. Tiffany's Green Cup lode claim near Bumb1ee Bee. He is receiving some grubstake help from Ernie Stevens. His veins run from 14" to 24" wide and contain visible gold in quartz. KAP WR 3/13/74

Went to Bumble Bee and met Garry Tiffany who showed his Green Cup unpatented claim in S c. 29, TION, R2E about l~ miles west of the villageoof Bumble Bee. Here a 10"-18" quartz v~in strikes N200 -25°E and dips 750 w'est in granite near a schist contact. Near an old 40 foot inclined shaft, Mr. Tiffany has uncovered the vein which here contains an appreciable showing of galena as well as free Au in hematite veinlets in gray quartz. The vein is tracable by a few' outcrops for perhaps 250 feet. Mr . It was suggested he trench the vein at 20 flOot intervals and then I w'Ould return and sample it for him as he is very amateur. GW WR 3-18-74

Gary Tiffany was in with more samples from his claims near Bumllile Bee. He has been crushing and panning samples of his rock and is finding encouraging amounts of gold. Hehhad some hand picked galena bearing samples assayed. Results showed 3 oz. Ag/ton. Henmentioned that Glen Walker had visited his claims and told him where and how to sample. He has staked two more claims on what he hopes is a continuous vein. His claims are named the Green Cup, Copper Cup and Brown Cup in Sec. 29 & 32, T10N, RZE. KAP WR 3/25/74

ill Gary 'rUfany was in to tell that he has fDrmed a partnership with Ralph M. Gray of the (9pp~ Black Canyon City Ranch. KAP WR 4-4-74

Garry Tiffany of Phoenix who has been proppecting on a foot wide Au quartz vein about a mile west of Bumble Bee came in to discuss his future plans saying he would have to quit prospecting and find a job as he is flat broke. Names of three or four people who have been prospecting and Eithout much luck were given him to contact for a partnership arrangement.GW WR 5-8 74

As opposed to abandoning these claims, Mr. Tiffany gave the claims to Earnie Stevens, 1243 E. McDowell Road, Phoenix, 85006, 253-9335. Spring of 1974

Subject: Garry Lee Tiffany - Office Interview on May 1, 1980

,r./'

Gave Power of Attorney to Ernie Stevens to sell hlS Green Cup Claims. ",.. .. . ......--.----_ ..

Nothing was done and claims were let go. Mr. Tiffany ' relocated the

claims in 1979. He had two partners on the location notice, a Mr.

and Mrs. Brown who live in Southwest Phoenix. Mr. Tiffany wants to

sever the partnership but is having difficulties. He stated the

map location is 300 feet off from the ground location. He intends

to locate on top of existing claims and the 300 feet in question.

Dear Ken:

TEL. (602 )884-2733

Sample No. 54726

The sample submitted to the Arizona Bureau of Mines for ex

amination is predominantly specular hematite with a little quartz,

orthoclase, clay minerals and limonite.

Gold and silver were not detected by microscopic and visual

spectroscopic analyses. However, 34 parts of precious metals per

million, which is equal to approximately I troy oz. per ton, cannot

always be detected by the routine laboratory procedures we render.

The Arizona Bureau of Mines does not engage in making quantitative

assays. Quantitative fire assays can detect economic quantities of

precious metals and if this type ~f service is desired, sample should

be sent to a corrrrnercial assay office. He are enclosing a list of

commercial assayers for your convenience.

I sincerely hope this information is of help.
