HOUE // THE STORYHOUE is a Danish design house founded in 2007. We combine great comfortability and design in our work. Therefore, we always put a lot of effort into our product development striving to meet a high standard of craftsmanship.

Our products are manufactured only on well-established facto-ries with whom we have worked closely for several years. Our products are not random mass production – every detail, joint or component in our furniture is thoroughly chosen or invented by our experienced HOUE team to make a unique product.

We are driven by affordable luxury as a philosophy, by choosing the right materials and solutions. We draw from a proud heritage of Scandinavian design and craftsmanship with mass appeal. HOUE offers both an outdoor and indoor collection, always meet-ing our high standards in terms of design, price and quality.

HOUE // NEW INTRODUCTIONSWe are very proud to be able to introduce our new designs at the IMM Fair 2019!

For Indoor we introduce our new FALK dining chair designed by the Danish designer Thomas Pedersen. Besides being a func-tional chair of great beauty - FALK is the first chair in the world to be made from post-consumer plastic, directly from Danish household waste! Read more about this exciting experiment in the separate article. For outdoor we introduce a new line of classic romantic outdoor chairs in powder coated metal - PAON, New café tables, a fold-able dining table in bamboo, new refreshing colors for the CLICK line, for the EYELET tray tables and for LEVEL lounge set. HOUE has indeed a lot of news for the outdoor season 2019, - and even a German Design Award Winner product!!

HOUE INDOOR HOUE Indoor collection is a mix of well-designed dining tables, dining- and lounge chairs made in high quality materials such as solid oiled oak, soft Camo aniline leathers and linoleum in beau-tiful calm dusty colors. We put a lot of effort into our product development to secure our high standard of quality and crafts-manship – every detail, joint or component is thoroughly chosen or invented.

HOUE INDOOR // DINING TABLESThe collection of dining tables consists of 5 different designs: GATE, SKETCH, FLOAT, FOUR and HEKLA. All tables come in different sizes and shapes. This combined with a choice of lino-

leum, veneer and laminate surfaces as well as legs in solid oiled oak, black painted or powder coted black metal - makes a wealth of possibilities.

HOUE INDOOR // DINING CHAIRSThe chair collection includes a number of well proportioned, and very comfortable designs: ACURA in 3 variants, GRAPP, SIKO and SPÄN. Both GRAPP, SIKO and SPÄN come in more variants. The materials are oiled oak, painted ash and leather. All dining chairs compliment HOUE dining tables perfectly.

HOUE OUTDOOR Combinations of powder coated metal or aluminium, beautiful bamboo, raw black granite and different versions of colourful plastic lamellas create a collection of Danish modern well-de-signed outdoor furniture. All HOUE outdoor dining tables perfectly complement all HOUE outdoor dining chairs collections. The col-lections can be mixed in many different ways and enable several beautiful settings for the garden.

NEWSFLOR is a new line of Café tables made in maintenance free powder coated black aluminium. FLOR comes in 3 sizes: Ø60, Ø68 and in a square version in size 60x60cm. They all make a perfect setting for the smaller terrace or balcony with any HOUE outdoor dining chair.FLOR is designed by Henrik Pedersen

BEAM dining table with bamboo lamella top and construction in powder coated black metal tube. This dining table is not only beautiful in its appearance - but also foldable, which makes BEAM easy to store away in a small place. BEAM goes with any of the outdoor chairs in HOUE assortment – but mixed with the new PAON dining chairs it looks just great. BEAM is designed by Henrik Pedersen.

CIRCUM is a new designed café table with bamboo lamella top and powder coated black metal tube construction. CIRCUM is perfect together with PAON dining chairs. CIRCUM is designed by Henrik Pedersen.

LEVEL LOUNGE LEVEL is a lounge collection consisting of 2 couch modules – one left and one right, an ottoman, a lounge chair and side tables in bamboo, all with powder coated grey aluminum frame and cushions in water repellent fabric.

LEVEL is a modular system that makes it possible to create a variety of unique outdoor lounge settings. Combine the lounge modules with the coffee and side tables in bamboo to make your own private lounge area.

NEW for the summer season 2019 is LEVEL with cushions in new quality fabrics from Sunbrella in an elegant dusty blue color or in coal grey. The Sunbrella fabric is 100% acrylic, water-repel-lent and stain-proof.The new colors compliments the grey aluminium frame perfectly and gives the LEVEL lounge set a refreshing new look. LEVEL is designed by Henrik Pedersen.

For the EYELET tray table line, 3 new beautiful dusty colors are introduced – Midnight blue, Plum and Pine green. The EYELET tray tables can be used outdoor as well as indoor and are easy to move around. The EYELET tables look great in a HOUE lounge setting. EYELET is designed by Henrik Pedersen.

CLICK is a collection of outdoor chairs consisting of Dining chairs, Sunbeds, Rocking chair, Lounge chair, Position chair and a Footrest. CLICK is made in intelligent designed plastic lamellas combined with powder coated metal and parts in bamboo. The components of the lamella are carefully composed to give the lamellas exactly the right strength and resilience.

The CLICK concept provides excellent cushion free comfort, and the flexibility to change colors according to individual tastes. The colors can either be used separately or mixed in a wealth of com-binations to make a new refreshing look. The plastic lamellas can be changed as often as you like, simply by clicking on and off the lamellas. CLICK is designed by Henrik Perdersen.

For the summer season 2019 we introduce 3 new colors – Paprika, Plum and Pine green.

CLIPS is a collection of outdoor chairs consisting of Dining chair, Rocking chair and a Bar stool. The chairs are light and simple in their appearance but still the wide lamellas make them sophisti-cated and special.

CLIPS is made in intelligent designed plastic lamellas combined with powder coated aluminum, shaped to provide excellent cushion free comfort. The aluminum combined with the plastic lamellas keeps the maintenance to a minimum.

The core of the design is wrapped around the concept of grab-bing and holding on to.Like a row of giant staples, the plastic lamellas are the visual backbone of the CLIPS line, that offers a flexible and comfortable seat, with an option to change the color as you like.

The CLIPS products all come in different beautiful lamella colors clipsed on a powder coated black frame with or without bamboo armrest – or in a mono color version where the color of the frame and lamellas are the same.

FALK is the first chair in the world to be made from post-consumer plastic – plastic recycle - directly from Danish household waste.

With the common vision of challenging the very limits of recycled plastic use in furniture production, HOUE and two of Denmark’s most ambitious waste minimisation and plastic moulding companies have joined forces to create a minor revolution with an enormous potential.

The Danish modern design tradition translated into a chair of our time

FALK by HOUE is the realised vision of creating a functional chair of great beauty that expresses the Nordic design tradition through its’ modern and simple language.

FALK is designed by the award-winning Danish designer Thomas Pedersen, who through great precision balances aesthetics and function.

The lightweight frame and the organic lines of the seat result in a chair with personality and a silhouette that almost seems to float. The flexible back, following the body combinesoutstanding seating comfort with a form that is both soft and inviting.

FALK is available in black and warm grey with either a column leg or a 4-leg construction in powder coated black metal or with a 4-leg construction in oiled oak. The FALK chair comes in 2 versions – with or without armrests, and with seat padded in one of four beautiful colors of high quality fabric from Gabriel. The Gabriel CURA fabric is made of 98% post-consumer re-cycled Polyester + 2 % Polyester.

FALK is available in black and warm grey with either a coloumn leg or a 4-leg construction, and with the seat padded in one of four beautiful colors.

With this variety of options, you can give FALK a simple, a sculptural or a more colorful expression.

OUTDOORPAON – NEW INTRODUCTION

PAON is the French word for Peacock, and this bird worked as inspiration when designing the chairs in the PAON line – take a look at the back and you will notice. PAON is light Scandinavian in its design but with a touch of French Victorian romance.

The PAON line consists of dining chairs, Lounge chair, Rocking chair, a two seater Bench, and a Bar chair made in powder coated steel combined with beautiful bamboo lamellas. All PAON chairs are blessed with a seating comfort you would not expect from a metal chair!

Comes in 5 different colors. The chairs can be used with or without the cushions in nature grey or carbon grey. All PAON chairs are stackable.

Designed by Henrik Pedersen. Available in Spring 2019.

OUTDOOREDGE – GERMAN DESIGN AWARD 2019

We are very honored to announce that our EDGE tray tables, designed by Roee Magdassi, has won the prestigious German Design Award 2019.

EDGE tray table is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The half ring shaped handle makes it easy to move the table between the living room and the garden, and when laid down it functions as a table edge.

The designer Roee Magdassi describes his thoughts behind the design of EDGE this way:

“During the design process I had in mind a bucket as an everyday object that can function in the two environments and that can be easily moved in between them. The half ring shaped handle, as a main feature, makes it possible to carry the table with one hand while moving between the living room and the garden, and adds a sense of humor to the scene.While designing the handle, I wanted it to have visual and functional values in both states; lifted or down. By creating the handle with the same diameter of the tabletop, it functions as a table edge while laid down, making sure everything stays in place”.

EDGE comes in 3 different sizes Ø46, Ø62 and Ø76cm, and in a variety of color combinations.

THE PREMIUM PRIZE OF THE GERMAN DESIGN COUNCILThe German Design Award is the top international prize of the German Design Council. It’s goal: to discover, present and honor unique design trends. Therefore, every year, top-quality entries from product and communication design are rewarded, all of which are in their own way ground-breaking in the international designlandscape. Launched in 2012, the German Design Award is one of the most well respected design competitions in the world and is held in high regard well beyond professional circles.

STATEMENT OF THE JURYA practical, simple and beautifully designed side table that appears to exude industrial chic while retaining a homely feel. Appropriate for both outdoor and indoor use, the elegant long metal legs are set off by a solid top with decorative frame that acts as both a barrier to stop items falling from the surface as well as a handle for easy transportation to another location.

DESIGNER // HENRIK PEDERSENDoes design really matter? Perhaps not – but for me it’s essential. It gives me a thrill to design forms and func-tions that are capable of mov-ing people passionately and opening up new possibilities.

Passion for design is in my mind, soul and heart, wherever I go.

And my main inspiration is neo-scandinavian design, in-fluenced by the vibes of Lon-don and the humor of Amster-dam, often with elements of fusion, resulting in materials and functions being combined in new and original ways, while always striving for a pure and simple look.

DESIGNER // JESPER K. THOMSEN I see every day as a challenge to further improve whatev-er I designed the day before. This is my driving force, which constantly sends me in new directions. I draw inspiration from everything I meet on my way and don’t subscribe to a specific design idiom or narrow professional speciality.

I always seek to develop my working field with new areas of interest and new partners. To me design is not about doing it alone but about nurturing the opportunities of teamwork.

As long as design has a clear-ly stated purpose there are no ends to creative options you can apply.

DESIGNER // ROEE MAGDASSI I believe that design should be practical, striving for simplicity and be straightforward.I design products that are de-sirable, bringing fun. Products that make you smile.

In my designs I try to use as an inspiration a recognized shape, feature or a small ges-ture which most people are fa-miliar with, simplify it to its core, process it and implement it in a new context.

The functional details enhance the concept in an interesting and expressive manner, and adds a unique character to the object, one that the consumer can recognize and relate to.

DESIGNER // THOMAS PEDERSENThomas Pedersen’s design displays typically Danish char-acteristics, with a clear empha-sis on simplicity.

He combines classic organic lines with innovative ideas and details. Much of his fascina-tion for furniture design comes from the fact that it is possible to build full-scale models of the concepts he has in his head.

He is firmly convinced that it is only by doing this that it is pos-sible to test the qualities of his products with his own body, to assess their durability and thus make certain that the results live up to expectations.
