Introduction
• Colonial housing:
The group similar houses at least 2-story often with columns in front and usually symmetrical with many windows.
• Apartment
Apartment is a set of well furnished rooms for living in, usually on one floor of a large building.
1. Availability of space:
Urban cities like Kathmandu, Pokhara, Biratnagar, there is very less empty land for making individual houses and those empty lands are also very expensive.
2. Cost effective:
• Buying apartment and colonial house is cheaper than individual house.
• Living in an apartment allows you to avoid property taxes associated with owning a house, which saves you a lot of money over time.
3. Lifestyle and family structure:
• Now a days people live in nuclear family than joint family so they do not need more space so apartment is best for them
• In city many people come for study, jobs and other work so they live alone. An apartment is perfect if you live alone and do not require a large amount of space
4. Security
• many apartments include a professionally installed security system, which increases your safety.
• In many colony and apartment there is a security gate,CCTV camera and security guards.
5. No maintenance skills required:
living in an apartment does not require you to have any maintenance skills because a team of maintenance professionals repairs everything for you.
6. Different floor plan options:
One of the main advantages of apartment living is the many floor plans you have access to, as you can choose from several different one-, two-, or three-bedroom floor plans.
7. Many parking options:
depending on the complex you choose, you may have many different parking options, which allows you to select the one that suits your budget best.
8. Amenities.
Things like a swimming pool, tennis courts or a fitness room are things that many people would like in their homes, but may not be able to afford. However, it’s easily available in many apartment complexes – particularly larger ones
Limitations
• Maintenance of the common facilities would come at a cost.
• Limited or no freedom to make modifications to the exteriors your home.
• Very limited space to develop interests such gardening or growing smaller farm animals .
• No flexibility to expand the space for future needs as your children grow or if your parents move in to live with you.
