JOHN HIGGINSON

Managing Director

Born in Ireland, John moved to Australia after meeting his wife whilst on holiday. With over 20 years’ experience in developing property both in Australia and overseas, John established KingsCoin in 2011 with a mission to help people gain financial freedom. At 21, John tried to buy his first commercial property on the high street in his Irish hometown. The bank said no. Determined to succeed, he got a job on a construction site and studied real estate in the evenings. This led to his first job as a property manager, but outstanding debts still prevented him from securing a mortgage. Stumbling across an advert for 22 properties starting from only $11,000 each, he tried in vain to persuade his father to invest. Within 5 years, they were worth $100,000 each, leaving John even more determined than ever to invest himself.

At 26, John applied for a mortgage and the bank said yes! The $25,000 loan allowed him to finally pursue his dream. He renovated and sold 4 years later for $132,000. This enabled him to develop strategies to generate cash flow and equity to continue investing in property. By 30, John was a millionaire and soon opened his own real estate agency. The agency grew to include 3 offices and 26 staff, while John completed his Business degree in the evening. In 2007, John could see the property market in Ireland was about to crash and sold off half of his investments. He advised his clients to do the same. Fortunately his risk management strategy paid off.

Contracts Manager

John has over 40 years’ experience in the building industry. His expertise includes Accounts Management, Project Management, Contract Administration, Estimating and Budget Cost Reporting. Managing the money, John makes sure that our projects are delivered on budget and on time. He also ensures that all our subcontractors are paid promptly and that orders are placed in time for the correct delivery schedule.

Former Managing Director of one of Adelaide’s most respected Tier 2 builders, Tagara, Tullio is one of the best in the industry. He is also a former President of the Master Builders Association SA (2013-2015). With over 40 years’ experience across industrial, commercial and multi-residential construction sectors, Tullio has constructed everything from $50,000 maintenance projects, to $40 million apartment towers in the CBD. He is an expert in Design and Construct, Construction Management procurement models, construction contracts, building regulations, as well as health and safety regulations.

Born and raised in Adelaide, John’s parents emigrated from Greece in 1955. He has a large extended family which he is very close to, especially his 3 grandchildren. In traditional Greek fashion, he loves to cook dishes at home whilst entertaining family and friends. He is also a keen football supporter. Having worked at all levels in his long career, John has managed a vast number of projects in Adelaide, both large and small. His key strengths are his attention to detail, his organisational skills, with strong leadership and focus on excellent relationships with clients, staff and suppliers.

Born in Italy, Tullio emigrated to South Australia with his family aged just 6 months, growing up in Adelaide’s inner northern suburbs. He is the proud father of two adult sons and apart from construction, his passions include reading biographies and crime fiction. He is extremely well educated, having graduated from university whilst working weekends as a carpenter with his father, later going on to obtain a graduate diploma and a further MBA whilst working full time.

CREATIVE, HANDS-ON PROFESSIONAL WITH EXPERTISE IN RENOVATIONS, BUILDING SELECTIONS ANDPROJECT MANAGEMENT.

Jennie is a creative, hands-on professional with expertise in home renovations, building selections and project management. She holds a Diploma of Arts from the University of South Australia, a Bachelor of Science from Flinders university, as well as a Certificate IV in Interior Design from TAFE SA.

Her experience covers a range of skills, including the development of creative design concepts, specifications and selections, budget management, as well as excellent client relationship management. Jennie has a strategic and considered eye for design and strong attention to detail, ensuring that the outcome exceeds expectations without breaking the budget.

As project manager and interior design lead on all of KingsCoin’s projects, Jennie excels with complex problem solving, design process, material selection and creative design layouts. She is focused on delivering high quality results in a timely manner and drives the team to deliver above and beyond every time.
