This facility was built in the City of Pompano Beach and is the First LEED certified project for the city. This brand new 11,900 SF Facility was built on a 4.5 acre site and is the new Storage and Truck Maintenance yard for HYPOWER. The site will have 125,509 SF of concrete, in lieu of asphalt, 70,000 SF of Green area with native species to limit the use of well water. Two, 2 story, steel buildings were erected, and building 1 has 5,184 watts and building 2 has 5,390 watts dedicated to solar energy (PV) systems while the remaining portion of the roof is finished with a high SRI painting which will limit heat absorption. When you take into account all of the building integrated PV systems, energy efficient lighting, daylight harvesting technology, & high SEER HVAC units; these buildings have significantly reduced their annual power bill as compared to a similar non-LEED building. Building 1 has offset its energy use by 55% and building 2 is at a remarkable 90% offset.

Lebolo Construction has registered this project with the USGBC (www.gbci.org). Registration # 1000003346 and 1000007006. We achieved LEED Gold certification on Building #1 the office building and have submitted to achieve a Platinum Certification on Building #2, the fleet maintenance facility.

The uniqueness of this project is due to its history. Palm Beach International Raceway as it was known in the 1960’s was purchased by Dick Moroso from David Rupp in the 1980’s and renamed Moroso Motorsports Park. In 1968 Dick Moroso was known as one of the most successful modified production drag racers on record. The purchase of the property enabled him to establish a drag strip for local fans.

Located on over 200 acres of wooded property in northwest Palm Beach County, the Motorsports Park is known for catering to the motorsports enthusiasts hosting more than 850 events annually. Auto racing being the number one spectator sport in the country, events at the park draw an estimated one million people per year, with media coverage impacting several million or more. As a result, the park previously created an economic impact on Palm Beach County and surrounding areas in excess of $25 million. Now the new Palm Beach International Raceway is projected to double that figure.

The park’s Road Course, Drag Strip and Karting track have brought motorsport enthusiasts from all over the country. To have the opportunity as local General Contractors and subcontractors to give back to the track, their spectators and the surrounding community is a privilege. The enhancement and needed refurbishment of the facility only broadens the scope of activities and bring a needed in fluctuation of tourism and employment to the area.

This project was an Interior Build out – Tenant Improvement for a new 5,200 square feet high end Medical Office in a multi-tenant building in the city of Boynton Beach. Two contiguous spaces were turned into one bigger space by demolishing all interior partitions, demising wall and all interior finishes including any related mechanical, electrical or plumbing work, to leave it a shell ready to accommodate the approved floor plan and receive all finishes. All ceiling, wall and floor finishes as well as the cabinetry and counter tops for the business center, examination rooms, laboratory and in general, for all spaces, were chosen by the owners of the finest quality and of first class materials to satisfy also their fine clientele.

Because this is medical facility, HVAC and plumbing systems were the most significant and critical aspect of this project and demanded from the construction team, special attention to details and technical aspects as well as the careful planning of all activities so that every piece of equipment required was installed to meet strict standards and comply with the norms and regulations of the health agencies and authorities having jurisdiction. Previous to any of the interior work started the existing slab had to be cut and all of the concrete removed to allow for the new sanitary system to be installed as per required standards.
