Construction Dust - Much morethan a nuisance!
Do you think that construction dust is just a nuisance?
It is, in fact, a serious risk to construction workers.
Regularly breathing even small amounts of dust
over a long time can cause serious lung diseases,
including cancer. Common jobs like cutting or grinding
concrete, chasing out mortar, drilling in enclosed
spaces or sanding wood/MDF can be high risk if not
properly controlled.
This half day event and exhibition is aimed at
managers, supervisors and operatives. It aims to
raise awareness of the health problems caused by
construction dust and the simple steps you should
take to control it. Sessions and demonstrations
include on-tool extraction, water suppression,
respiratory protective equipment (RPE) and
management controls.
Our keynote speaker, Chris Lucas, is in
charge of co-ordinating HSE’s activity on
construction dust. He has widely engaged
with the industry on this issue and will be
providing the very latest information.
