What is a Thunderstorm ?
Thunderstorms are these loud storms that have rain, strong winds and can produce lightning. Hail sometimes falls during a thunderstorm.
How does it form?
Thunderstorms are born from cumulus clouds. Masses of warm moist air are pushed upward by masses of cooler air.
Where do they happen? (Place/Region)
Thunderstorms happen in the late afternoons and early evenings on warm days all over the world. In the United States, Florida has the most thunderstorms with rain falling about 90 days a year.
Where was the worst one recorded? (Location)
The worst storm ever recorded took place on May 5, 1995 in Fort Worth, Texas. Many victims were caught outdoors with no access to shelter . There were 70mph winds and hail the size of grapefruits.

How does it affect transportation? (Movement)
People should go inside and go to the basement. They shouldn’t drive during a thunderstorm.
What affect does it have on people and how they interact with the environment (Human/ Environment Interaction)?
Strong winds blow down trees, dents cars, and can start fires or kill crops.
Interesting fact 1The strongest thunderstorms are called supercells. Supercells can produce large strong winds and powerful tornadoes.
