In this session, you will learn how to do more than collect $200 as you pass go! Monopolizing content reflects interdisciplinary learning by using an unusual method to help ESOL students grow amplify academic language and content while escalating their organization skills.

Divide the class into cooperative learning groupsGive each group a card with the word MONOPOLOY

know or think they know about the word-recording it on the paper
Allow them to use a thesaurus or dictionary to locate the word and record it meaning or words that are synonyms or antonyms for it.
Have them draw an illustration of the word in action!Allow opportunities to use the word in a
sentence/conversation within their group.

form and THEN prepare a written report of your findings.
