    ConnectUPS Web/SNMP

    network adapters are the most

    powerful and flexible way to

manage and monitor UPSs in a

    computer network environment.

    Web interface shows current

status of the UPS at a glance,

while also storing data in its

    memory for future reference.

    SNMP protocol interfaces the

    card to network management

    systems such as HP OpenView,

    IBM Director and many more.

    If necessary, the card can

    initiate a controlled shut

down of up to 256 computers.

    The shutdown agent called

    NetWatch is able to execute

    tasks and inform users before

    shutting down the operating

    system. NetWatch is available

    for Windows, Novell, MacOS

    X and major Unix platforms.

    The new LanSafe 5 network

    shutdown software is also

    compatible with ConnectUPS

    Web/SNMP cards.

    Monitoring, control and shutdown

Product SnapshotType: TCP/IP network adapter for Powerware UPSsInstallation: Hot-pluggableOperating Systems: NetWatch supports Windows, Novell, MacOS X and several Unixes including LinuxAdditional features: 3-port switching hub (ConnectUPS-X) and optional environmental monitoringUpgrades: Upgrades available at www.powerware.com

    Features

In case of an alarm the

    adapter can notify system

    administrators in many ways.

An email can be sent using its

    SMTP function, NetWatch can

    create pop up messages on

    user terminals and SNMP traps

    will alert network management

    systems.

    The optional Environmental

    Monitoring Probe provides

    temperature and humidity

sensors as well as two relay

    inputs which can be used

    to detect intrusions, water

    leaks, smoke and fire alarms.

    Environmental data can be also

    used to trigger an automatic

    operating system shutdown

    with NetWatch.

    With ConnectUPS Web/SNMP

cards it is possible to remotely

turn off and on UPS outputs

    perhaps to reboot attached

    devices. Battery tests can also

be initiated via web or SNMP.
