VISUAL ACCESSIBILITY Direct Visual connection to the destination enhances walkability. In this case,the metro station is not only given a direct physical path but a visual connectivity from Shakurpur , making it convenient for people to walk to it. NETAJI SUBHASH PLACE- -DEBOJYOTI, 4B URBAN DESIGN ACCESS AND AXES  The institutional ar eas are disconnected from NSP by the barreen stretch. However NSP is a flock point for the college crowd,but the transit corridor is not very active Shakurpur:people from Shakurpur walk to the metro station through NSP along informal transit paths Kohat enclave has its own retail, however a lack of community space can be catered to by NSP Civic Chowk and it s peripheral area needs to be integrated back into the NSP complex Pitampura residents could have better walkability to NSP and the metro station which would help draw more crowd from these areas  The design concept focu s on expan sion of NSP in order to integrate the various stake holders in the context of the DC Barren stretch near NSP metro station,can be developed to enhance connectivity between NSP,Pitampura and the institutional area adjacent to it Creamation Ground:asite deliberately not considered as a development site, railway land,left redunadant, disconnecting Lawrence colony,Ashok Vihar and KeshavPuram from NSP dead space behind NSP ,potential to cater as a public realm for people of Shakurpur,as the area is congested with lack of open spaces this empty patch of land bifurcates NSP, reducing footfall at Civic Chowk the reseaon for NSP’s isolation are the empty patches of land around NSP which act as negative spaces and raise security concerns central core EXISTING THOROUGHFARES PROPOSEDVEHICULARTHOROUGHFARE PROPOSED PEDESTRIAN THOROUGHFARE presently NSP is like a massive box with a central hollow core buildings along the periphery of the site act as a buffer for the central core,leading it to become redundant tall building facades and raised plinth cut off visual connectivity very little,visually disconnected spill out zones of buildings along the major motorway HEIGHT MODULATION PARAMETERS areas with large open spaces like the DDA park have tall buildings Visitors and tourist mostly enter NSP from LJN Marg.therefore this area is retail oriented.
