September 29th

We host a “SERVICE SUNDAY” on the 5th Sunday of the month—and September 29th is just

around the corner. Everyone meets in the Chris(an Life Center or church lobby at 11 a.m.

Projects can be done at church or at an off-site loca(on. Each project takes 45-60 minutes to

complete (a4er travel (me). Some of our past projects include Mary Martha Thri4 Shop,

washing a Fire Truck, assembling flood buckets, visi(ng Crisis Nursery, making lunches for

the homeless and installing free libraries. Service binds us together in love!

Do you have a mission idea waiting to take

shape? Now’s the (me! Give Pastor Mark a call to

let him know what project you’re willing to tackle,

and we’ll find folks to help!

See you in September!

Dear Friends:

We are into the fall schedule with

Bible Studies, Adult Choir and Bell rehearsals and aer-school

acvies. Our Youth Group is going strong and the Children’s

Ministry is taking root. What a great me of year!

I hope you enjoyed the Parking Lot Party on Sunday,

August 25th. Bubbles were everywhere! The bounce house

was jumping, games were compeve, fire and police vehicles

were on display and the food was delicious (see photos, p. 7).

Good job, Angela! She is a true benefit to our congregaon.

In the coming weeks, I hope we will all take stock of

our giving and parcipaon in worship. We have small groups

available to get to know your church family: Bible studies,

youth and children’s acvies, music and social groups. If

you’re not sure what’s out there, take a look at the Sunday

bullen this week. Children’s Church and Youth events are

listed, along with current Adult Bible Studies and Weekly/

Monthly ongoing acvies. There’s something for everyone!

I hope you will take advantage of what we have and any

new idea is certainly welcome. You never know who else may

be thinking or wondering about a new study or fun acvity.

Speak up! Let us know of your dreams and aspiraons. It may

be the Holy Spirit prompng your spirit in a new outreach to

someone who has been praying and asking God for just that

thing.

God bless us every one,

“Lindley Creek's musical roots are strong, stem-

ming from the Ozark Hills' rich legacy of bluegrass

and gospel music. But, this family and their

unique and personal brand of Acous(c music isn't

just about where the art form has been ... it's very

much about where it is going. And in the capable

hands of Lindley Creek, it's going places!”

Join us on Wednesday, 9/11 when we

host the Lindley Creek Bluegrass Band. Weather

permiOng, we will gather around the outside pavilion, so bring your blankets and lawn

chairs for “music under the sky.” Alternate loca(on will be the Chris(an Life Center.

Concert is FREE and open to the public — music begins at 6 pm following the

Wednesday Night POTLUCK Dinner, so invite your family and friends for good food, fellow-

ship and some great bluegrass...

Growing in ChristGrowing in ChristGrowing in ChristGrowing in Christ

Greetings from Children's Church!! The new school year is always so exci(ng and filled with endless possibili(es. One of the most effec(ve

and Kingdom-building tools we can teach our children is to be the heart and hands and feet of Jesus at

school. A smile, a hello, a "come sit with us" can shine the light of Jesus every day.

In Children's Church, we have been learning about the friendship between Jesus and MaXhew... the new

life that Zacchaeus found through his friendship with Jesus… the hardships of Job and how he worked with

God at that (me to grow an even closer friendship with Him. It is my prayer and goal that these stories of

a trus(ng friendship with God stays in each child's heart for life.

Sunday, September 29th is a 5th Sunday and a SERVICE SUNDAY at Wentzville United Methodist. Please

save that day to serve along with your child at an area elder facility. We will depart church at 11 am and

the ac(vity will end by 12 noon. More informa(on to come!

Blessings to you and yours,
