SAFEGUARDING HABITATS
Preserving land is essential to protecting watersheds, fi ltering clean air and sheltering animals. That’s why we take care of
46,000 acres of land for wildlife habitat and recreation.
PROTECTING SPECIES
Protecting our land means protecting all its inhabitants. That’s why we’ve installed equipment on 7,830 poles to help
safeguard birds through our avian protection program.
UNDERSTANDING NATURE
To truly protect our beautiful wild places, we must fi rst understand them and their needs. That’s why we have a team of 19 fi sh and wildlife biologists on staff to help guide our work.
PRESERVING ECOSYSTEMS
Pristine wilderness – it’s part of what makes the West so unique. That’s why we plant 13,000 tree and shrub species annually to preserve our historic beauty and healthy habitats.
powering A BETTER FUTURE
Our land gives us so much. From the wind to the sun to our waterways, it’s not only the source of the clean, renewable energy we rely on, it’s also paramount to sustaining healthy, thriving communities.
That’s why it’s essential we serve as good stewards of our environment.
WORKING TOGETHER, WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.Through our programs, we protect and preserve our shared land to minimize
our environmental impact – creating a healthier home for all.

WITH A SMART THERMOSTAT
FOR NATURE’S FINESTTrees are a beautiful addition to our neighborhoods and they improve air quality.
Planting a tree this spring? Dylan Evans, Rocky Mountain Power arborist, has these recommendations for your safety and for the health of your trees:
1. Remember to call 811 before you dig to have underground utility lines marked.
2. Plant only low-growing trees near power lines. Trees that grow taller than 25 feet need distance from lines.
3. Save on your energy bills by planting deciduous trees facing southeast and southwest for summer shade and winter sun.
