Attendees will learn about our nation’s service academies and how to
obtain a Congressional nomination.
If you are interested in receiving a prestigious university degree and becoming a military officer, consider attending a United States Service Academy.
At this free informational workshop, academy representatives and current students will be available to answer questions about eligibility requirements, cadet life, academics,
athletics, and career opportunities after graduation.
Event is open to students, parents, and the public who want to learn about this opportunity.

Twenty-Seventh Annual Lucille Roybal-Allard Student Art Competition
Win a trip to Washington, D.C., and have your artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year! This competition is open to all high school students (grades 9-12) residing in the 40th Congressional
District. Selected entries will be professionally matted and exhibited for one month. Students and schools that submit art pieces are eligible to win various scholarships and awards.
The first place winner will receive a trip to Washington, D.C., for him/herself and a guardian to attend the opening of the national exhibit.
Art Entry Deadline: February, 2020 (Exact date TBD)

U.S. Service Academy Nominations
Members of Congress have the honor of nominating qualified students for our U.S. Service Academies. These federally-funded universities offer students a fully-funded bachelor’s degree program
in exchange for five years of military service as a commissioned officer.
The deadline to apply for a nomination is October 30, 2019.

Vigésimo Séptimo Competencia Anual Estudiantil de Arte de la congresista Lucille Roybal-Allard
¡Gane un viaje a Washington, DC, y tenga su obra de arte exhibida en el capitolio por un año! Este concurso está disponible para estudiantes de grados 9-12 que viven en el Distrito 40 del Congreso.
Obras de arte elegible serán enmarañadas y formarán parte de una exposición por un mes. Los estudiantes y las escuelas que presenten piezas de arte serán elegibles para ganar varias becas y
premios. El ganador del primer lugar recibirá un viaje a Washington, DC, para él/ella y un tutor para asistir a la inauguración de la exhibición nacional.

Nominaciones para las Academias Militares de E.E.U.U.
Miembros del Congreso tienen el honor de nominar a estudiantes calificados a las academias militares de los Estados Unidos. Estas universidades son financiadas por el gobierno federal y ofrecen a
estudiantes becas completas para una licenciatura de bachillerato a cambio de cinco años de servicio militar como un oficial comisionado.
El plazo para aplicar para una nominación es el 30 de octubre del 2019.
