Vet Science Program is open to all middle and high school youth in Bell County. It is a program that runs year round and cycle through its lessons. Any youth wishing to enter can simply jump right in!

Upcoming Events

Hunter Spectacular Meeting

If you are a Committee Chair person or on a committee for the Hunter Spectacular , please join us for an update

meeting on Wednesday, July 29th starting at 6:00 p.m. at the County Extension Office. Please be prepared to

tell everyone the status of committee’s progress and responsibilities. No, tickets are not ready yet but every-

one will be notified when they are.

4-H Award Banquet Planning Meeting

The next 4-H Award Banquet Meeting will take place on Saturday, July 25th from 9 a.m.—3:00 p.m. at the

CEO. This will be more of a work day than a meeting.

If you are interested in assisting with the Banquet, please join us at these meetings!

4-H Awards Banquet

The 4-H Awards Banquet has been set for August 22, 2015. This event will take place at the

Bell County EXPO! The theme is “4-H Bling”. The attire will be Sunday dress. Look for more

information in upcoming newsletters.

Save the Date! The 4-H Family Fishing Weekend will take place July 17-19, 2015 at Camp Tyler in Smith

County (Lake Tyler). The weekend will be open to any enrolled 4-H family wanting to learn more about basic

fishing skills, receive training on various topics, learn more about the 4-H Sport Fishing Project, and enjoy fam-

ily time fishing on Lake Tyler. Registration is available on 4-H Connect May 15—June 19. Basic Registration

will not include lodging/meals. Lodging/meals package will have additional costs; includes Fri/Sat nights, 4

meals Sat. breakfast to Sunday breakfast

Clover Kid Engineering Workshop

Want to build a bridge? A tower? Come to the Engineering Workshop where your get to take home your

project! This will open children’s eyes to the amazing world of engineering! This workshop will take place at

the Bell County Extension Office on Thursday, July 9th. This workshop will start at 9:00 a.m. and will conclude

at 12 p.m. Cost is $5 per kid. This will cover the cost of the projects.

Participants must be picked up promptly at the conclusion of the workshop

Cell phones will be prohibited, participants will be able to check their phones on breaks and at the conclusion of the program

Animal Science Day Camp

When: July 8, 2015

Transportation will be provided. Heidi will notify those participants attending by Monday, July 6th.

Participants that got accepted into this day camp, be checking your email that is associated with your 4-H

Connect account for more details.

Cool Ties for Military

When: July 28

Where: CEO, 9a.m.—11 a.m.

RSVP Deadline: July 24

Keep the Troops COOL with Cool-Ties!

Intermediate-Advanced sewing skills are needed to participate in this community service project. Please

bring 45" x 5" strips of 100% cotton fabric (camo, tan, sand colored, etc – bright colors might attract

gunfire) with a tight weave so the crystals won't ooze out plus matching thread and sharp scissors. We will

meet at the CEO from 11:30-1:30 pm on July 9.

Duds to Dazzle Workshop

When: July 16, 2015

Where: CEO

Time: 1:00—3:00 p.m.

RSVP Deadline: July 13

Micah Holcombe will be educating Bell County participants over the relatively new 4-H Contest,

Duds to Dazzle.

For those who maybe don't sew or can't make a workshop, but still would like to participate in these community service projects, we would love donations of:

*100% cotton yarn (Sugar and Creme is a brand that is easily found at Wal-Mart, Hobby Lobby, and Hancocks) in pastel colors for the baby washcloths

*1 1/2 yard pieces of colorful fleece prints for Tied Fleece Blankets for children and families at Ronald McDonald House.

Save the Date! We will have a Food Preservation Workshop on Friday, August 14th at the CEO. More information to come !

Major Show Validation and Tag Orders

From here forward, all Major Show Validation Tag orders will be handled in the County Extension Office through Heidi or Sheryl. Tags will now have to paid for in advance at the time of ordering. Please pay

attention to upcoming newsletters and emails to make sure you place an order for your families’ tags! All Major Show Entries (Ft. Worth, San Antonio, Houston, San Angelo, Austin) will go through the CEO. If you

have any questions, please refer them to Heidi or Sheryl.
