Care must be taken while installing this accessory to ensure damage does not occur to the vehicle. Use approved guidelines to insure a quality installation. These guidelines can be found in the “Accessory Installation Practices” document.

SPECIAL NOTE:

After TMS and Safety mandated preparatory steps have been taken, the installation sequence is the suggested method for completing the accessory installation. In some instances the suggested sequence is written for one associate to install and in others the sequence is given as part of a team accessory installation. Unless otherwise stated in the document, the associates may perform the installation steps in any order to make the installation as efficient as possible while maintaining consistent quality.

TOYOTA TUNDRA DCAB CLADDING AND FENDER FLARE

A. Installation Preparation (PIO/DIO) NOTE: Installation sequence may be deviated by installer as long as quality of Installation does not affect fit and finish of installed product. PIO installers may use either PIO or DIO method.

1. Verify that the part is for the correct vehicle model and that it fits the vehicle properly.

Inspect the vehicle for damage prior to installing the Two Tone Package.

i. Paint: Prepare part surfaces per Toyota paint standards. Do not use lacquer thinner or enamel reducer as a degreaser.

Install Edge Trim.

i. Peel 2” of red plastic liner from adhesive strip

ii. Apply to the edge of the flare, starting at one end of the outside of the flare and working to the other, pulling liner as you go. (Fig. 1 & 2)

Using a plastic pry tool, remove plastic corner guard attached to the rear bed panel behind the cab. (Fig. 3)

Make sure that all installation surfaces are free of dirt and/or grease. (Fig. 4)

(1) Use a clean, lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol-based cleaner.

B. Cladding Alignment Tool Installation (PIO)

1. Using wrench, remove top screw in front factory mud flap. (Fig. 5) Align hole in Front Alignment Tool with factory hole in mud flap. Using a wrench install supplied screw and securely tighten. Note: Alignment tool will overlap gap in vehicle sheet metal. (Fig. 6)

Press Front Alignment Tool forward until the rib clicks into the door gap. (Fig. 7)

C. Front Door Cladding Installation

1. Align tape leaders as shown in Figure 8. Center Leader 1 must be positioned behind Leader 2 so that it can be peeled first. Fold leaders to outside surface of the part and tape in place using Exterior Automotive tape. (Fig. 8) Repeat process on opposite end of part.

C. Front Door Cladding Installation (PIO) (cont’d)

2. Align front door cladding along lower edge of front door using extended lower lip of Cladding pushing factory rubber seal back from edge of sheet metal. Align front edge of Cladding with Front Alignment Tool. Make sure tape liners remain accessible.(Fig. 9)

Pull tabs #2 & #3 back 1 inch and press down corners of part. Repeat process on opposite end of part.

Open door and inspect Cladding for correct alignment along bottom edge of door. (Fig. 10)

While holding cladding against vehicle and maintaining part placement, fully remove leader from the center tape (Leader 1). Apply firm pressure to adhere part to vehicle. Maintaining part placement, repeat process for remaining tape leaders. (Fig. 8 & 11)

2. Align rear door Cladding along lower edge of rear door using extended lower lip of Cladding pushing factory rubber seal back from edge of sheet metal. Center Cladding piece on rear door. Make sure tape leaders remain accessible.(Fig. 13)

2. Align Rear Cab Cladding with the upper edge of the Rear Door Cladding and Magnetic Straight Edge. Make sure tape leaders are accessible. (Fig. 17)

While holding against vehicle and maintaining part placement, fully remove one leader from tape. Apply firm pressure to adhere part to vehicle. Maintaining part placement, repeat process for remaining tape leader. (Fig. 18)

F. Front Door Cladding Installation. (DIO)

1. Align tape leaders as shown in Figure 3. Center Leader 1 must be positioned behind Leader 2 so that it can be peeled first. Fold leaders to outside surface of the part and tape in place using Exterior Automotive tape. (Fig. 19)

Hold part up to vehicle aligning part along the lower edge of the front door and centering front to back. (Fig. 20)

Using a metal ruler, measure back 3mm from the front edge of the door. Place Exterior Automotive Tape along edge to mark.. (Fig. 21)

Check that cladding is aligned along lower edge of front door. Using extended lower lip of Cladding push factory rubber seal back from edge of sheet metal and align with tape along front edge of door. (Fig. 22)

Once part is properly aligned along the front edge, peel back Leaders 2 and 3 approximately 1” and lightly press down corners of part. (Fig. 22)

6. Open door and inspect Cladding for correct alignment along bottom edge of door. Check to make sure part is centered front to back. If not properly aligned, remove cladding and re- position. (Fig. 23)

While holding cladding against vehicle and maintaining part placement, fully remove leader from the center tape (Leader 1). Apply firm pressure to adhere part to vehicle. Maintaining part placement, repeat process for remaining tape leaders. Remove Exterior Automotive Tape. (Fig. 19 & 24)

G. Rear Door Cladding Installation (DIO)

1. Align tape leaders as shown in Figure 11. Center Leader 1 must be positioned behind Leader 2 so that it can be peeled first. Fold leaders to outside surface of the part and tape in place using Exterior Automotive tape. (Fig. 25)

2. Align rear door Cladding along lower edge of rear door using extended lower lip of Cladding pushing factory rubber seal back from edge of sheet metal. Center Rear Door Cladding on rear door. Will have 2.5-3mm of exposed sheet metal on each end of Rear Door Cladding. Make sure tape leaders remain accessible. (Fig. 26)

I. Rear Flare Installation (PIO/DIO)

1. Using a socket wrench with a 10mm socket, remove second screw from the top of the mud guard . (Fig. 34)

Remove push retainer from underside of factory mud guard. (Fig. 35)

Hold the flare firmly on the fender. Start a three 20 mm Hex Screw through the top center holes of flare and into factory holes in fender . (Fig. 36)

Start two supplied 20 mm Hex Screw through the rearward most holes of flare and into the factory hole in fender. Fender Flare will align with the edge of installed Cladding. (Fig. 37)

I. Rear Flare Installation (PIO/DIO) (cont’d)

5. Start three supplied 20mm Hex screws through the forward most holes of flare and into factory holes in fender. (Fig. 38 )

Install supplied push retainer into factory hole on underside of mudguard. (Fig. 39)

Ensure flare is properly positioned and while applying firm pressure towards vehicle at each location use a 10mm socket to tighten all screws.

Inspect the Edge Trim to be sure it’s laying smooth against the vehicle and fender flare surfaces. If not, use supplied Edge Trim Tool to “seat” edge trim by hooking the curved end under edge trim at one end of flare. Next, slide around outer edge of flare to the other end. (Fig. 40)

If edge trim is not laying smooth against the fender flare surfaces, use the flat end of the supplied Edge Trim Tool to “seat” edge trim against flare by inserting straight end between edge trim and flare at one end. Next slide around entire edge to the other end. (Fig. 41)

L. Front Bed Cladding (DIO) 2 2 1. Fold leaders to outside surface of the part and tape in

place using Exterior Automotive tape. (Fig. 49)

Align Front Bed Panel Cladding with the upper edge of the Cab Cladding and Exterior Automotive Tape. Part should wrap around front edge of bed panel. Make sure tape leaders are accessible. (Fig. 50)

While holding against vehicle and maintaining part placement, fully remove leader from tape (Leader 1). Apply firm pressure to adhere part to vehicle. Maintaining part placement, repeat process for remaining tape leader #2. Remove Magnetic Straight Edge. Remove remaining tape leaders in order shown. (Fig. 51)

M. Rear Bed Cladding Installation (DIO) 1 1 1. Fold leaders to outside surface of the part and tape

in place using Exterior Automotive tape. (Fig. 52) Place a piece of Exterior Automotive Tape at the top front of the bed down to the top edge of the Front Bed Cladding Piece. (Fig. 53)

Mark the tape at the top of the bed. (Fig. 54) Mark the tape at top of the Front Bed Cladding piece. (Fig. 55)

While holding Cladding lightly against vehicle slide left to right until part nests with style line of sheet metal and align mark at the bottom of the tape. . Make sure tape leaders are accessible. (Fig. 57 & 58) While holding Cladding against vehicle and maintaining part placement, fully remove liner from tape (Leader 1). Apply firm pressure to adhere part to vehicle. Maintaining part placement, repeat process for remaining tape leaders. (Fig. 59) Remove Exterior Automotive Tape.

Apply firm pressure to all Cladding parts using Roller Tool to ensure proper adhesion.

N. Front Flare Installation (PIO/DIO)

1. Using a 10mm socket, remove two factory fasteners from front of wheel well. (Fig. 60) Using a 10 mm socket, remove two factory screws from factory mud guard as shown. (Fig. 61) Remove push retainer from underside of factory mud guard. (Fig. 61)

Attach bracket using two 20mm Hex screws into factory holes with a 10mm socket. (Fig. 62)

Place flare on fender, aligning holes with clips on bracket, start two supplied 20mm Hex screws through two holes on the top of the flare and into clips. (Fig. 63)

6. Start three supplied 20mm Hex Screws through three rear holes in flare and into factory holes in rear of wheel well. (Fig. 64)

Start two supplied 20mm Hex Screw through forward most holes in flare and into factory locations. (Fig. 65)

Install supplied push retainer into factory hole on underside of mudguard. (Fig. 66)

Ensure flare is properly positioned and while applying firm pressure towards vehicle at each location, tighten all screws. (Fig. 67)

10. Inspect the Edge Trim to be sure it’s laying smooth against the vehicle and fender flare surfaces. If not, use supplied Edge Trim Tool to “seat” edge trim by hooking the curved end under edge trim at one end of flare. Next, slide around outer edge of flare to the other end. (Fig. 68)

If edge trim is not laying smooth against the fender flare surfaces, use the flat end of the supplied Edge Trim Tool to “seat” edge trim against flare by inserting straight end between edge trim and flare at one end. Next slide around entire edge to the other end. (Fig. 69)

11.

Repeat process on other side of vehicle.

No gap between the cladding and the vehicle

surface. No greater than +/- 1mm.

Fender Flare should not cover door gap or gas

door finger groove

Uniform fit to vehicle with no visible gaps

No damage, dirt or finger marks
