ObjectivesAfter reviewing this module:• Nurses and Care Partners will have an understanding of new
process to view HEO/WIZ lab orders in the Care Organizer (CO) TO DO list
• Nurses and Care Partners will understand how to Complete labs in Care Organizer to remove from TO DO list
• Care Partners will be able configure CO to view only lab orders
Viewing Labs in Care Organizer
• RN’s & CP’s will see labs in the TO DO list in Care Organizer
• Nurses will continue to see meds and IV’s• CP’s will need to tweak their configuration to show labs
only• Worklist will be set to be visible• All staff will be set to dayshift with this change
• Night shift will need to reset their assignment to nights• Going forward all new staff will be automatically set up
assuring they can see when labs are due
Day 1 of Implementation there will be an upgrade to Care Organizer that will set the configuration for all nursing staff
Viewing To Do and Overdues• Place Care Organizer in the
To Do view to see the lab orders for your shift.
• Switch to the Overdues view to see past due lab orders that have not been Completed yet in Care Organizer.

How to Complete Labs
1. Click on the Complete button in the header of Care Organizer
2. In the window that opens, select the order you wish to complete
2. To select more than one order hold Control down and click on labs you want
3. Click on the Complete button below
4. The lab will then be marked as “Charted”
5. Click Close – window closes and lab is removed from TO DO list
To remove a lab from your “To Do” or “Overdues” list, it must be Completed

Care Partner Configuration
1. Click “View”, then “Configure” in the upper left corner of the Care Organizer screen
2. When the Configuration Settings box opens, click the Include radio button
3. Scroll through the Available Groups column, and highlight LAB
4. Once LAB is selected, Add >> it to the Included Groups.
5. Click OK to save
This needs to show how to REMOVE meds and IV’s they will see labs automatically
Reset Your Shift in Create Assignment(You can work in HED without your assignment!)
• Click Create Assignment• Set Provider Type to RN • Set the Care Relation to Primary Nurse or Care Partner• This opens the shift selection box. Change Shift to NIGHTS• Select your unit• To save, click File, then Save Configuration
To Do List Display• Labs will display by time in the To DO List for
12h back and 12h forward until completed• STAT Labs will begin to display in CO Overdues
after 30 minutes • Routine orders will begin to display in
Overdues after 60 minutes • Tests will remain in Overdues for 72h to
display outstanding tests such as troughs
