1-1 Configuring SATA Controllers
A. Installing SATA hard drive(s) in your computerInstall the hard drives/SSDs in theSATA/M.2 connectors on themotherboard.Then connect the powerconnectorsfromyourpowersupplytotheharddrives.

Step2:IfyouwanttoconfigureUEFIRAID,followthestepsin"C-1."ToenterthelegacyRAIDROM,savethesettingsandexitBIOSSetup.Referto"C-2"formoreinformation.
TheBIOSSetupmenusdescribedinthissectionmaydifferfromtheexactsettingsforyourmotherboard.TheactualBIOSSetupmenuoptionsyouwillseeshalldependonthemotherboardyouhaveandtheBIOSversion.
B. Configuring SATA controller mode in BIOS SetupMakesuretoconfiguretheSATAcontrollermodecorrectlyinsystemBIOSSetup.Step1:Turnonyourcomputerandpress<Delete>toenterBIOSSetupduringthePOST(Power-OnSelf-Test).UnderChipset, ensureChipset SATA Port Enableisenabled.SetSATA ModetoRAID(Figure1).Thensavethesettingsandrestartyourcomputer.(IfyouwanttouseNVMePCIeSSDstoconfigureRAID,makesuretosetNVMe RAID modetoEnabled.)

Step4:OntheSelect Physical Disksscreen,selecttheharddrivestobeincludedintheRAIDarrayandsetthemtoEnabled.Next,usethedownarrowkeytomovetoApply Changesandpress<Enter>(Figure5).ThenreturntothepreviousscreenandsettheArray Size,Array Size Unit,Read Cache PolicyandWrite Cache Policy.

1-2 Installing the RAID/AHCI Driver and Operating SystemWiththecorrectBIOSsettings,youarereadytoinstalltheoperatingsystem.
A. Installing Windows AssomeoperatingsystemsalreadyincludeRAID/AHCIdriver,youdonotneedtoinstallseparateRAID/AHCIdriverduringtheWindowsinstallationprocess.Aftertheoperatingsystemisinstalled,werecommendthatyouinstallallrequireddriversfromthemotherboarddriverdiskusing"XpressInstall"toensuresystemperformanceandcompatibility.IftheoperatingsystemtobeinstalledrequiresthatyouprovideadditionalRAID/AHCIdriverduringtheOSinstallationprocess,pleaserefertothestepsbelow:
Step1:CopytheHw10 folderunderthe\BootDrvfolderinthedriverdisktoyourUSBthumbdrive.
Step2:BootfromtheWindowssetupdiskandperformstandardOSinstallationsteps.Whenthescreenrequestingyoutoloadthedriverappears,selectBrowse.
Step3:InserttheUSBthumbdriveandthenbrowsetothelocationofthedriver.Thelocationofthedriverisasfollows:Windows64-bit:\Hw10\RAID\x64
Step4:WhenascreenasshowninFigure1appears,selectAMD-RAID Bottom DevicefirstandclickNexttoloadthedriver.ThenselectAMD-RAID ControllerandclickNexttoloadthedriver.Finally,continuetheOSinstallation.

B. Rebuilding an ArrayRebuildingistheprocessofrestoringdatatoaharddrivefromotherdrivesinthearray.Rebuildingappliesonlytofault-tolerantarrayssuchasRAID1andRAID10arrays.Toreplacetheolddrive,makesuretouseanewdriveofequalorgreatercapacity.TheproceduresbelowassumeanewdriveisaddedtoreplaceafaileddrivetorebuildaRAID1array.
Whileintheoperatingsystem,makesuretheChipsetandRAIDdrivershavebeeninstalledfromthemotherboarddriverdisk.Thendouble-clicktheRAIDXpert2icononthedesktoptolaunchtheRAIDutility.
Step1:EntertheloginIDandpassword(default:"admin"),andthenclickSubmittolaunchAMD RAIDXpert2.
Step2:In theDisk Devices section, left-clickyourmousetwiceonthenewly-addedharddrive.
Step3:Onthenextscreen,selectAssign as Global Spare andclickConfirm.
Step4:Duringtherebuildprocess,youcanselectthearraythat is being built (displayed in red) in theActive Volumessectiontocheckthecurrentprogress.
Step5:Then rebuild is complete when theTask State columnshows"COMPLETED."
