The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has mandated the replacement of the ICD-9-CM code sets used by medical coders and billers to report health care diagnoses and procedures with ICD-10 codes, effective Oct. 1, 2014. Audrey is a certified healthcare instructer and has been a PMI faculty member since 2006.

Monica K. Sapp has over 20 years experience in the healthcare industry with specialization in the areas of management, documen-tation, education, analysis, auditing, charge master review, pricing, coding, and compliance issues across many healthcare environ-ments. Her preparation for ICD-10-CM/PCS begin with completing the AHIMA Academy in New Orleans.
