Conference of the Canadian Asian Studies Association

2-4 November 2012 Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM)

The Canadian Asian Studies Association (CASA) will hold its 2012 conference from

November 2 to 4 at UQAM.

The conference takes place at the Pavilion DS, JA DeSève UQAM, 320 Ste-Catherine East

(Berri-UQAM). The inscpriptions begin Friday, November 2 to 14h00-17h00, in the Lobby of

Pavilion entrance DeSève (DS).

Every two years, the symposium is a forum where ACEA meet researchers working on all parts of

Asia, Canadians with Asian heritage, as well as those interested in the links Canada's

relationship with the region. This event welcomes researchers, students, policy makers and civil

society actors, interested in Asia in its broadest sense.

The conference is an event whose dimension is national, but also international, as Asianists

collects and abroad. It can provide a Canadian perspective on the issues that separate Asia has

for our country, but also to take into account the wealth of Asian heritage in Canada and roles

past, present and future of the Asian community in Canada.

The organizing committee is composed of the following persons: Stéphane Bernard (UQAM

CCSEAS), Mathieu Boisvert (UQAM, CAS), Christopher Goscha (UQAM, CCSEAS), Olga

Alexeeva (UQAM, CAE), Yann Roche (UQAM, ACEA, CCSEAS).
