This letter is to request approval to attend the 2020 International Association of Chiefs of Police Virtual Technology Conference (IACPTech 2020), online June 24th & 25th. IACPTech 2020 will provide access to the latest training, best practices, and solutions we need to meet today’s technology challenges.

Each year, IACPTech is the forum in which to share information, strategies, and lessons learned regarding emerging technologies and their application. While the conference will be held in a virtual environment this year, it will feature the same high-quality content offered by all IACP conferences. The event offers two days of live sessions and access to additional on-demand content, that will allow me to focus on specific skills and insights that I can immediately share with our agency. I will also have the opportunity to learn global best practices, gain new contacts within the field, and make valuable connections with exhibitors showcasing the latest law enforcement technology products and services.

This opportunity to connect with other law enforcement agencies and leading practitioners in the field is especially important as we continue to face the unprecedented challenges brought on by the Coronavirus. I am hopeful to bring back insights and ideas on how to utilize technology in our Coronavirus response and operational recovery, which will be beneficial not only for the agency but also for our community.
