WELCOMEWelcome! We’re glad that you’re here with us as we think about “Partnering in the Gospel.” There is no greater news in all the world, and we have been tasked by Jesus to carry that news to every tribe, nation, and tongue. To do that, we need healthy, vibrant partnerships with other Christians and other churches. The motivation behind this conference is to help equip believers to build and strengthen our partnerships in the gospel.

The apostle Paul writes in Philippians 1, “I thank my God in all my remem-brance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.”

We are so thankful for the many partnerships that have already been formed in our community and among our churches. It is a joy to serve alongside like-minded brothers and sisters in Christ, and we want to make our joy com-plete by developing new partnerships while we deepen those relationships we already have. That’s why we have invited speakers to help us think about gospel partnerships in our local community, our nation, and our world. We have also invited several gospel ministries that we would commend to you as partners. They have booths in the Family Center and would love to talk with you!

Our hope is that this conference program would also serve as a reminder and prayer prompter for the weeks and months ahead. Here, you’ll find informa-tion about various gospel ministries that serve our local community, our region, and the world.

You will also find a list of recommended resources about missions work, evan-gelism, and gospel ministry. Many of these resources are available at LifeWay Retail stores and at their table in the Family Center. Ask your pastor or one of the speakers for more recommendations!

We have been praying for you and for God to do a marvelous work through this conference. To Him be the glory!

In Christ,Nathan EikenberryPastor, First Baptist Millersville

centered on focusing our collective for the equipping and empowering of our churches to make disciples of all peoples. This strategy is grounded in our strong Baptist conviction of the autonomy of the local church. The practical working out of our strategy leads to a decentralized approach to the ministries of our association.  The primary function of the associational leadership is connecting churches with common interests, goals, and objectives, specifically as related to camp ministries, collegiate ministries, church development, church planting, and missions.

The vision of the Cape Girardeau Baptist Association is “partnering together to advance the Kingdom of God locally and throughout the world.” This is fulfilled by our mission, “to make disciples who gather with other believers as they cooperatively begin new churches or new groups within existing churches.” Our strategy is

Over 20 years ago, Thomas and his wife Elise moved from Switzerland to Italy and settled in the Belluno Provence of Northeast Italy. He moved because he had a burden for the people of Belluno to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Soon after arriving, he and his wife began to pray that God would send ministry partners to help reach their city and region. As they prayed, they shared the gospel and soon people became Christians through their witness.

Over 20 years later, Rick Hedger (MBC) traveled to Belluno and met with Thomas. Rick wrote about this meeting: “Emotion cannot fully describe what took place as I shared with him I was seeking a MBC church to partner with him to reach Belluno and the surrounding villages with the Gospel.”

Rick then asked pastors in the MBC: “Is your church the one God is sending in answer to a godly man's prayer?”

HOW TO PARTNERPray – Ask God to grow gospel churches in this unreached area. Pray that He would send labor-ers into the harvest, even from Southeast Missouri.

Go - The Cape Girardeau Baptist Association has answered the call to go and plans to send 4-6 teams to Northeast Italy starting in 2018. Prayerfully consider if God wants you and your church to partici-pate in this Great Commission work by going on one or more of these trips.

QUICK FACTS:• 36,000 people live in the city of Belluno (largest city in the area of 200,000) and there is 1 evangelical church of approximately 35 people in the entire city.

• 0.046% of Northeast Italians are considered Evangelical.

Practical Shepherding is a Gospel-driven resource center for pastors and church leaders to equip them in the practical matters of pastoral ministry. Many pastors lack the necessary training to perform even the most basic of pastoral duties. In fact, even pastors who have had some kind of formal theological training still lack the practical training that every pastor will inevitably need to

face the daily grind of pastoral ministry. There are very few outlets and resources for this training, and this reality grows even dimmer once outside the United States. Most of the pastors we help cannot financially support our ministry.

Founded by Brian Croft, pastor of Auburndale Baptist Church in Louis-ville, KY, Practical Shepherding reaches thousands each month through their blog, speaking engagements, conferences, and books.

HOW TO PARTNER• Financially – your support goes to develop resources to train pastors all over the world

• Fellowship – Seek to train up pastors and leaders in your local church

• Visit practicalshepherding.com for more information on the books, articles, podcast and other resources

How does it work?

1. Child Welfare identifies a need – like a crib, mentoring, or a family – they access CarePortal online and submit the request for help.

2. The Church is informed. Using GEO Radius Technology, CarePortal quickly sends an email invitation to churches who want to help hurting children and families right in their community.

3. The Church answers the call. The church’s point of contact connects with their congregation to see if someone can meet the need. The church contact then responds to the original email.

CarePortal brings the needs of hurting children and families in your community to your attention. Child welfare workers uncover the needs. CarePortal makes local churches aware, giving them a real-time opportunity to respond.

HOW TO PARTNERPray – ask God to embolden our local churches to step out of their comfort zone, sacrificially give, and personally involve themselves in meeting needs and sharing the gospel.

Give – support this regional ministry to ensure that we can meet the needs of community members. Resources are needed to support the team and technology that make it all happen.

Romans 1:16, “I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvations of everyone who believes.”

This is made clear when we see the gospel presented to people who have never really heard it in the past. Our goal is simple: to involve as many Churches and Christians as possible to become active in Hands-on-Missions through Short-Term Trips.

What is the mission of the church?

What is a people group?

What is an unreached people group?

Matthew 28:18-20And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have command-ed you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Acts 1:8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

For strategic purposes, a people group is the largest group through which the gospel can flow without encountering significant barriers of understanding and acceptance (e.g. language).

Unreached peoples and places are those among whom Christ is largely unknown and the church is relatively insufficient to make Christ known in its broader population without outside help. In contemporary terminology, unreached peoples refer to ethnolinguistic groups in which the number of evangelical Christians is less than 2 percent.
