Ch 2:###168-9*****(168. O ye people! Eat of what is on earth, Lawful and good;and do not follow the footsteps of the evil one, for he is to you an avowedenemy.169. For he commands you what is evil and shameful, and that ye shouldsay of Allah that of which ye have no knowledge.)

Ch 4:##38*****(38. Not those who spend of their substance, to be seen of men,but have no faith in Allah and the Last Day: If any take the Evil One for their

intimate, what a dreadful intimate he is!)

##83*****(83. When there comes to them some matter touching (Public)safety or fear, they divulge it. If they had only referred it to the Messenger,or to those charged with authority among them, the proper investigatorswould have Tested it from them (direct). Were it not for the Grace and Mercyof Allah unto you, all but a few of you would have fallen into the clutches ofSatan.)

Ch 5:

##90-3*****(90. O ye who believe! Intoxicants and gambling, (dedication of)stones, and (divination by) arrows, are an abomination,- ofSatan'shandwork: eschew such (abomination), that ye may prosper.91.Satan's plan is (but) to excite enmity and hatred between you, withintoxicants and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of Allah,and from prayer: will ye not then abstain?

93. On those who believe and do deeds of righteousness there is no blame

for what they ate (in the past), when they guard themselves from evil,and believe, and do deeds of righteousness,- (or) again, guard themselvesfrom evil and believe,- (or) again, guard themselves from evil and dogood. For Allah loveth those who do good.)

Ch 7:11-25*****(11. It is We Who created you and gave you shape; then We badethe angels bow down to Adam, and they bowed down; not so Iblis; Herefused to be of those who bow down.12. ((Allah)) said: "What prevented thee from bowing down when Icommanded thee?" He said: "I am better than he: Thou didst create me fromfire, and him from clay."

13. ((Allah)) said: "Get thee down from this: it is not for thee to be arroganthere: get out, for thou art of the meanest (of creatures)."

14. He said: "Give me respite till the day they are raised up."

15. ((Allah)) said: "Be thou among those who have respite."

16. He said: "Because thou hast thrown me out of the way, lo! I will lie inwait for them on thy straight way:

17. "Then will I assault them from before them and behind them, from theirright and their left: Nor wilt thou find, in most of them, gratitude (for thymercies)."

18. ((Allah)) said: "Get out from this, disgraced and expelled. If any of themfollow thee,- Hell will I fill with you all.

19. "O Adam! dwell thou and thy wife in the Garden, and enjoy (its goodthings) as ye wish: but approach not this tree, or ye run into harm andtransgression."

20. Then began Satan to whisper suggestions to them, bringing openlybefore their minds all their shame that was hidden from them (before): hesaid: "Your Lord only forbade you this tree, lest ye should become angels orsuch beings as live for ever."

21.And he swore to them both, that he was their sincere adviser.

22. So by deceit he brought about their fall: when they tasted of the tree,their shame became manifest to them, and they began to sew together theleaves of the garden over their bodies. And their Lord called unto them: "DidI not forbid you that tree, and tell you that Satan was an avowed enemyunto you?"

23. They said: "Our Lord! We have wronged our own souls: If thou forgive usnot and bestow not upon us Thy Mercy, we shall certainly be lost."

24. ((Allah)) said: "Get ye down. With enmity between yourselves. On earthwill be your dwelling-place and your means of livelihood,- for a time."

25. He said: "Therein shall ye live, and therein shall ye die; but from it shallye be taken out (at last).")

26-31*****(26. O ye Children of Adam! We have bestowed raiment upon youto cover your shame, as well as to be an adornment to you. But the raimentof righteousness,- that is the best. Such are among the Signs of Allah, thatthey may receive admonition!27.O ye Children of Adam! Let not Satan seduce you, in the samemanner as He got your parents out of the Garden, stripping them oftheir raiment, to expose their shame: for he and his tribe watch youfrom a position where ye cannot see them: We made the evil onesfriends (only) to those without faith.

28. When they do aught that is shameful, they say: "We found our fathersdoing so"; and "(Allah) commanded us thus": Say: "Nay, Allah nevercommands what is shameful: do ye say of Allah what ye know not?"

29. Say: "My Lord hath commanded justice; and that ye set yourwhole selves (to Him) at every time and place of prayer, and callupon Him, making your devotion sincere as in His sight: such as Hecreated you in the beginning, so shall ye return."

30. Some He hath guided: Others have (by their choice) deserved the loss oftheir way; in that they took the evil ones, in preference to Allah, for theirfriends and protectors, and think that they receive guidance.

31. O Children of Adam! wear your beautiful apparel at every time and placeof prayer: eat and drink: But waste not by excess, for Allah loveth not thewasters.)

###157*****(157. "Those who follow the apostle, the unletteredProphet, whom they find mentioned in their own (scriptures),- in the

law and the Gospel;- for he commands them what is just and forbidsthem what is evil; he allows them as lawful what is good (and pure)and prohibits them from what is bad (and impure); He releases themfrom their heavy burdens and from the yokes that are upon them. So it isthose who believe in him, honour him, help him, and follow the light which issent down with him,- it is they who will prosper.")

200-2*****(200. If a suggestion from Satan assail thy (mind), seek refuge

with Allah. for He heareth and knoweth (all things).201. Those who fear Allah, when a thought of evil from Satan assaultsthem, bring Allah to remembrance, when lo! they see (aright)!

202. But their brethren (the evil ones) plunge them deeper into error, and

never relax (their efforts).)

Ch 10:

#17-20*****(17. Who doth more wrong than such as forge a lieagainst Allah, or deny His Signs? But never will prosper those whosin.

Ch 12:4-5*****(4. Behold! Joseph said to his father: "O my father! I did see elevenstars and the sun and the moon: I saw them prostrate themselves to me!"5. Said (the father): "My (dear) little son! relate not thy vision to thybrothers, lest they concoct a plot against thee: for Satan is to man anavowed enemy!)

42*****(42. And of the two, to that one whom he consider about to be saved,he said: "Mention me to thy lord." But Satan made him forget to mentionhim to his lord: and (Joseph) lingered in prison a few (more) years.)

Ch 13:Ch 16:98-100*****(98. When thou dost read the Qur'an, seek Allah.s protectionfrom Satan the rejected one.99. No authority has he over those who believe and put their trust in theirLord.

100. His authority is over those only, who take him as patron and who joinpartners with Allah.)

Ch 18:

22*****(22. (Some) say they were three, the dog being the fourth amongthem; (others) say they were five, the dog being the sixth,- doubtfullyguessing at the unknown; (yet others) say they were seven, the dog beingthe eighth. Say thou: "My Lord knoweth best their number; It is but few that

know their (real case)." Enter not, therefore, into controversies concerningthem, except on a matter that is clear, nor consult any of them about (theaffair of) the Sleepers.)63*****(63. He replied: "Sawest thou (what happened) when we betookourselves to the rock? I did indeed forget (about) the Fish: none but Satan

made me forget to tell (you) about it: it took its course through the sea in amarvellous way!")

Ch 22:52. Never did We send an apostle or a prophet before thee, but, when heframed a desire, Satan threw some (vanity) into his desire: but Allahwill cancel anything (vain) that Satan throws in, and Allah willconfirm (and establish) His Signs: for Allah is full of Knowledge andWisdom:

53. That He may make the suggestions thrown in by Satan, but a trialfor those in whose hearts is a disease and who are hardened ofheart: verily the wrong-doers are in a schism far (from the Truth):)

Ch 24:###21*****(21. O ye who believe! follow not Satan's footsteps: ifany will follow the footsteps of Satan, he will (but) command what isshameful and wrong: and were it not for the grace and mercy ofAllah on you, not one of you would ever have been pure: but Allahdoth purify whom He pleases: and Allah is One Who hears and

knows (all things).)

Ch 25:29*****(29. "He did lead me astray from the Message (of Allah. afterit had come to me! Ah! the Evil One is but a traitor to man!")

Ch 26:210. No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation):

211. It would neither suit them nor would they be able (to produceit).

212. Indeed they have been removed far from even (a chance of)hearing it.

Ch 34:

20. And on them did Satan prove true his idea, and they followedhim, all but a party that believed.

21. But he had no authority over them,- except that We might test the manwho believes in the Hereafter from him who is in doubt concerning it: and thy

Lord doth watch over all things.)

Ch 35:###5-6*****(5. O men! Certainly the promise of Allah is true. Let not then this present lifedeceive you, nor let the Chief Deceiver deceive you about Allah.

6. Verily Satan is an enemy to you: so treat him as an enemy. He onlyinvites his adherents, that they may become Companions of the BlazingFire.)

10. If any do seek for glory and power,- to Allah belong all glory and power.To Him mount up (all) Words of Purity: It is He Who exalts each Deed ofRighteousness. Those that lay Plots of Evil,- for them is a Penaltyterrible; and the plotting of such will be void (of result).

Ch 38:71-85*****(Satan's fall due to pride.71. Behold, thy Lord said to the angels: "I am about to create man from clay:

72. "When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him ofMy spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him."

73. So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together:

74. Not so Iblis: he was haughty, and became one of those who reject Faith.

75. ((Allah)) said: "O Iblis! What prevents thee from prostrating thyself toone whom I have created with my hands? Art thou haughty? Or art thou oneof the high (and mighty) ones?"

76. (Iblis) said: "I am better than he: thou createdst me from fire, and himthou createdst from clay."

77. ((Allah)) said: "Then get thee out from here: for thou art rejected,accursed.

78. "And My curse shall be on thee till the Day of Judgment."

79. (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day the (dead) areraised."

80. ((Allah)) said: "Respite then is granted thee-

81. "Till the Day of the Time Appointed."

82. (Iblis) said: "Then, by Thy power, I will put them all in the wrong,-

83. "Except Thy Servants amongst them, sincere and purified (by ThyGrace)."

84. ((Allah)) said: "Then it is just and fitting- and I say what is just and fitting-

85. "That I will certainly fill Hell with thee and those that follow thee,- everyone.")

Ch 44:3. We sent it down during a Blessed Night: for We (ever) wish to warn(against Evil).)

Ch 57:14. (Those without) will call out, "Were we not with you?" (The others) willreply, "True! but ye led yourselves into temptation; ye looked forward (to ourruin); ye doubted ((Allah)'s Promise); and (your false) desires deceived you;

until there issued the Command of Allah. And the Deceiver deceived you inrespect of Allah.

Ch 82:

###6-7*****(6. O man! What has seduced thee from thy Lord MostBeneficent?-

7. Him Who created thee. Fashioned thee in due proportion, andgave thee a just bias;)

Ch 113:###1-5*****(1. Say: I seek refuge with the Lord of the Dawn
