"The romantic comedy has the toughest job of all movie genres: It must be both romantic and funny without overdosing on sweetness,
and still manage to seem completely effortless so that the audience will believe the sparks flying between those mismatched
leads."
Michael Rowin, AMC Movie Blog
To create a sequence of five television
idents, each one lasting ten seconds, promoting my chosen
film genre - Romantic Comedies over the
past decade.
It may seem too broad but females of any age who love a romantic
story and a happy ending will be targeted, as most Romantic
Comedies are meant for any age over 12. The 18-34 range is
generally the largest movie-going segment but any female, whether it
be your grandma or your 15 year old sister, would still be enticed
to watch the films on the television even if they didn't get
the chance to see them at the cinema.

Based on the questionnaire results, I narrowed it
down to 8 top films
Uses a simple colour palette and clean cut, helvetica style
typeface.
Again, a simple colour palette is used but it shows serif
typefaces and italic fonts to emphasize can also be relevant.
Splitting the frame in half is popular within Romantic Comedy title sequences or
credits.
Layout of type ideas
Colour and type inspiration I could experiment with in
motion graphics.
Create a sequence of five television idents promoting Romantic Comedies over the past decade.
Combine typical Romantic Comedy styles such as typography, colours and layouts with screen grabs and voice-overs from the films.
