WELCOME TO PANTHER ATHLETICS
Contact Information – Submit any changes to your address, phone, and email to the athletic office. If
you are a new coach, please submit this information.
Coaches Responsibilities –
If you are a new coach, please complete all paperwork and finger print process with
Central Office.
All of your staff, whether paid or volunteer, must be approved by the Board of Ed.
Volunteers must complete the volunteer consent form.
Do not add a coach to your staff without approval.
If you wish to split a salary for coaches, make sure you stay at budget and each
coach also signs a contract that reflects the split salary.
It is your responsibility to check the eligibility of your athletes. Physical list,
grade eligibility list, and violations list. We do not want to forfeit any games
due to ineligible athletes. Do not directly contact a teacher concerning your
athlete’s grades. All inquiries must go through the athletic office. Have prepared lesson plans for practices.
Wear professional attire at practices and games.
Escort team to the bus.
Do not leave athletes unsupervised in locker rooms or on bus.
Every coach is asked to attend an athletic booster meeting, work one ticket table at
an athletic event, and work one event with their team when assigned to the
concession area.
Male coaches/female athletes – do not meet alone, if possible. Always meet in an
open area.
You are the role model – please guard your actions.
You must be the last person to leave the facility.
Varsity coaches are responsible to coordinate elementary, middle school and high
school camps and clinics during the school year and/or summer.
Become active in the “Coaches Association” of your sport to stay updated on rules
and issues. Through your association, your athletes have the opportunity to receive
district, region, and state honors, both athletic and academic.
Use the resources of the MHSAA website. www.mhsaa.com
Equipment - The moving of bleachers or operation of other dangerous school equipment poses a very
serious safety risk for students and non-trained staff.
This is a written directive to all high school personnel potentially involved in the moving of bleachers or
in using any other dangerous maintenance equipment (i.e. lifts). At no time is a student or athlete to be
involved in the moving of portable bleachers or in the operation of any other dangerous school equipment.
If the moving of bleachers is required for an activity, the following steps must be followed:
1) Notification should be made with as much advance notice as possible to the assistant principal or
athletic director. It is preferred that notification be made at least one day prior to the event so the
custodians can move the bleachers.
2) In circumstances when advance notice to custodians is not possible, notification should be made to
the administration and on duty maintenance/grounds personnel will be called to move the
bleachers.
Student and staff safety must be first and foremost in all decisions.
3
Fundraisers – No fundraisers without prior approval. All fundraiser paperwork (contracts, balance
sheets, etc . . .) should be on file with the athletic office prior to the start of the fundraiser.
Internal Accounts – All deposits and payments must go through the athletic office.

season. Varsity may keep their keys and cards for off season use. Do not give athletes your keys.
Locker Rooms – Remind your athletes that it is their responsibility to lock up uniforms, equipment, and
other personal valuables. Do not leave valuables in locker room or cages.
Med Kits – All med kits will be filled in athletic office.
