LATE SUBMISSIONS OF WORK AND EXTENSIONS OF DEADLINES

Please note that there WILL be a late submission penalty imposed for worksubmitted late WITHOUT VALID REASON. Should you feel that you have good andjust reason to submit your work late, you are required to notify the ProgrammeDirector within 48 hours to ensure that the Board of Examiners is notified of

the evidence. The evidence will be taken into consideration by the Board toreach a decision to assess the student, while taking the care necessary toensure that the student will not be put at an unfair advantage over otherstudents.

Although extensions for assessed work may be granted with good given reasons, try not to think about it now. The dates set above are very much sufficientfor the outcome of the assignment.

    LATE SUBMISSION PENALTY

A percentage of grade assigned to the work in its initial face value will bereduced by 10% for the first day, and 5% for each subsequent day of it beinglate. Please note that weekends (Saturday and Sunday) are counted as a day.

    PLAGIARISM

I do not condone any student copying and/or presenting another persons workas their own, as it is a SERIOUS offence and a case of misconduct deemunacceptable AND thus punishable by the college. Do not be surprised thatthere would be large deduction of marks, or even a big fat ZERO awarded forthe assessment of such cases. However, I do condone students working as a teamand helping each other out in this subject by sharing ideas, thoughts, tricksand tips, swapping files and reusing each others models to HELP them increating their OWN. This however should not be looked at as a way in comingout with technicalities of cheating the system. If you get caught stealingpeoples work, you WILL face the consequences.

    AND FINALLY

Now, I am hoping that you will NOT look at these assignments as JUSTassignments, but you will take it as more as a step towards enhancing a LIFELONG SKILL. Although you might feel inclined to drop everything when there aretimes due to crashed files, computer errors, software problems, snail pacedrendering times or the most common problem of not understanding what youredoing, the usages and understanding of 3DS MAX will be a big step into thegreater world of architecture, as we are now heading into a pace ofefficiency, creativity and who can give the most jaw dropping, pretty, colourful and realistic eye candy. It will also definitely give you anunderstanding of your designs, or design in general, as creating 3-D Models(either by CAD or by paper) will give the maker a better understanding of the

facades, interior spaces and deeper metaphors of the shapes and sizes of thedesign. However, please be reminded again, that it is not the tool thatcontrol the master, but it is the master that will own and control the tool,in order to generate what is rightfully theirs.
