Materials: Pom Pom and plastic cups

1. Give the students a prompt/sentence frame

“Con un millón de dólares yo compraría.. __”

2. Student A says the sentence frame + answer throws a pom pom aiming at student B cup.

3. Student B listens and tries to catch the pom pom with his/her cup.

Brain Break #1

Espejo (mirror) y Persona ● Have your students form four lines (or

more, depending in your class size) ● Have them face each other. ● Teacher tells which lines are going to be

the person (doing the movement) and which lines are going to be the mirror (person copying the movements).

● Give them a couple of seconds, and then have two lines rotate, so everyone has a different partner. Switch roles every time they have a new partner.

BlufforamaDescription:

1. Students create questions and answers in the target language for the following categories: a. Who? b. What? c. When? d. Where? e. How? (How much? How many? How often? Etc.) f. (Why? – optional)

2. Students may use the text or any notes they took when creating their questions and answers.

Blufforama3. Class divides into two teams and determines which team goes first.

4. The opposing team chooses a question category.

5. The teacher chooses a paper randomly (but make certain the question and answer are valid) and asks it.

6. Without consulting one another, all of the members of the team that’s “up” who are willing to answer the question stand up.

Blufforama7. The opposing team chooses one person who is standing to answer the question.

8. If the answer is correct, the team gets one point for each person who is standing; if the answer is wrong, the team loses one point for each person standing.
