Define the following components of fitness:
StrengthFlexibilityAerobic EnduranceMuscular EnduranceAgilitySpeedBody Composition
StrengthThe extent to which muscles can exert
force by contracting against resistance.E.g. holding or restraining an object or
person
Flexibility
The range of movement that is possible in a joint
Agility
The ability to perform a series of explosive movements in rapid succession in opposing directions
Cardiovascular Endurance
The heart’s ability to deliver blood to working muscles and their ability to use it
Muscular Endurance
The ability to keep working a single group of muscles over a long period of time
SpeedThe rate at which an individual is able to
perform a movement or cover a distance in a period of time
Body CompositionThe percentage of body weight which is fat,
muscle and bone.
