Abortions Skyrocket in Ohio

Reporting forms for 2017 and part of 2018 obtained by Operation Rescue show that complications in Ohio to

medication abortions done using the drug RU486 also known as mifepristone or Mifeprex, have skyrocketed over the past two years.

The rise in complications is tied to a dramatic increase in the use of medication abortions in that state. While overall abortions have steadily decreased since 1997, the use of mifepristone in conjunction with misoprostol to cause abortions has slowly increased until 2016– the most recent year for which there are statistics—when medication abortion numbers jumped. Gene c edi ng of human embryos, even in special circumstances, ignores the complex ethical problems related to creating and destroying human embryos, a Catholic bioethicist has said. “On first glance, genetic editing of human embryos to treat diseases seems like a laudable project. But the reality is far more complex,” Father Tadeusz Pacholczyk, director of education of the National Catholic Bioethics Center, told CNA. The most likely approach for genetic modification of an embryo or embryos would require their creation through in vitro fertilization, said Father Pacholzyck, who holds a doctorate in neuroscience. 11 Babies Die After Pregnant Women Given Viagra in Bizarre Study Dutch researchers quickly canceled an experimental study on pregnant women this month after 11 babies died during the study. Fox News reports the research involved pregnant women whose unborn babies showed signs of underdevelopment and the drug sildenafil, a blood pressure and erectile dysfunction drug commonly known as Viagra. Researchers at the Amsterdam University Academic Medical Center were studying if the drug would increase blood flow to the placenta and help the unborn babies grow, according to the report. Instead, the research turned out to be disastrous. So far, 11 babies out of approximately 90 have died of lung-related problems after their mothers took the drug, the report states. About 15 more mothers have not yet given birth, the researchers said. The tragic results and the overall study point to an extremely troubling hypocrisy in our culture about the value of human life before birth. Unborn Baby

A family in the UK had an unexpected treat on their trip to the Landmark Forest Adventure Park in Scotland. Fiona Petrie, her partner, and her two sons, ages five and three, were enjoying a day out when they entered the park’s Bamboozeleum. The gallery features distorting mirrors, holograms, and a giant kaleidosphere, among other fun illusions and puzzles. The Bamboozeleum also has a thermal imaging camera, which is where Petrie and her family got a fun surprise. When Fiona and her family stepped in front of the thermal camera they saw another person on the screen: Fiona’s preborn baby. The happy mom snapped an incredible picture of the image and sent the image to the theme park. The Landmark Forest Adventure Park Facebook page featured the amazing pictures and drew thousands of reactions. Overwhelmingly, commenters were moved by family’s special moment. Noticeably absent from the reactions was any confusion about whether or not Petrie’s preborn baby was human. Horror Story of Abortionist Kermit Gosnell Heading to 750 Theaters in October

Phelim McAleer is a man with a mission. He is a veteran investigative journalist, a film producer, New York Times bestselling author and crowdfunder. McAleer was drawn to the Gosnell story as it unfolded in Pennsylvania in 2013. “I happened to be in Philadelphia, for my previous documentary, and I had a day off and I saw in the local news something about this really interesting trial, and I walked into the trial as a journalist,” he said. He observed the case proceedings, witnessing “very shocking” images and witness testimonies. Despite the grisly, horrific nature of the case, what astounded McAleer the most was the lack of a media presence covering Gosnell’s trial. “This is one of the biggest stories I’ve ever seen, I’ve ever heard about, and there was no coverage at all,” he said. “Gosnell” the movie, features some A-list names, including director Nick Searcy (“The Shape of Water”) and Dean Cain (“Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman”). However, some actors were reluctant to accept roles, and after being cast, some stepped down. “We made this to tell the truth. What people do with this truth is up to them,” McAleer said. “As filmmakers, when you start thinking that you’re making a political piece, you will make a political piece and no one will go and see it. We want to make a film that people want to go and see. And in there’s the truth, and it’s up to people to take that and run with it.” The movie is scheduled for release Friday, Oct. 12. Canadian Doctors and Nurses Have Euthanized Almost 4,000 Patients Canadian doctors and nurse practitioners have reported that they have killed 3,714 patients since euthanasia was legalized in Quebec in December 2015 — after which it was legalized throughout the country by supreme-court fiat . It is shocking how enthusiastically Canada has embraced the culture of death — to the point that little dissent is allowed. For example, Ontario passed a law requiring all doctors to either kill a legally qualified patient or procure the death doctor willing to do the homicide, a law specifically approved by a court even though the judge acknowledged it violated the Charter-protected religious and conscience rights of dissenting physicians.
