    COMPLICATION OF JAUNDICE

    Severe jaundice, if left untreated, can cause serious complications.

    Acute bilirubin encephalopathy

    Bilirubin is toxic to cells of the brain. If a baby has severe jaundice, there's a riskof bilirubin passing into the brain, a condition called acute bilirubin
