Headquartered in the textile city of Coimbatore, South

India, the $ 25 Mn Veejay Lakshmi Group of Companies

employs manpower of over 3,500 across its several

divisions and facilities.

Veejay Lakshmi Textiles Ltd. is well integrated from cotton

to garment ensuring quality standards and reduced

delivery times in the textile chain making it a

comprehensive one stop provider for quality assured

Founded Veejay Lakshmi Engineering Works Ltd.

Developed own Two-for-One Twister (TFO) for spun yarns.

Entered the global market with exports of TFOs to South

East Asia.

Setup a modern spinning mill with an existing capacity of

25,000 spindles.

Setup a windmill farm now delivering over 6.0 MW.

Commenced manufacture of Automatic Cone Winders

(ACW) through a Joint-Venture with Savio, Italy.

Creation of a separate subsidiary company Veejay Lakshmi

Textiles Ltd (VLTL) with the objective of being a vertically

integrated company in the textile chain from cotton to

garments.

Setup of a modern garment manufacturing facility,

producing 6 million pieces of knit apparels annually.

Re-engineered the successful Auto Cone Winder and

launched the new machine under a brand ‘EXCELLO’

Facility & Operations

A 45 minute drive from the Coimbatore airport takes you to

Karamadai, the site of the modern Garment unit of the

Veejay Lakshmi Group manufacturing a wide range of

apparels, custom made to customer specifications.

Veejay Lakshmi’s Garment unit meets world benchmarks in

productivity and best practices With its factory, training

practices and control systems and procedures set up by

Technopak, a strategic affiliate to Kurt Salmon Associates,

USA.

Processing Facility

Strategic partnership with associates, offers a wide range

of knitwear processing facilities of global standards with a

capacity of 30 tonnes/day

Yarn dyeing: 2 tonnes/day

Knit Fabric dyeing: 9 tonnes/day

Continuous bleaching: 12 tonnes/day

Fabric singeing and

mercerizing capacity: 5 tonnes/day

12 Colour Rotary

printing: 25,000 mtrs/day

Infrastructure

The unit has a wide matrix of sewing machines from the

world’s leading manufacturers, maintained with great care

and discipline. The Sewing section which has over 300

machines at present, is poised for an expansion to over 600

machines.

Veejay Lakshmi Textiles Ltd., in addition to Spinning

capacity, also has in-house facilities for Knitting, Printing,

Washing and Embroidery. Veejay is a complete provider of

end to end ‘Cotton to Garment’ solutions.

Marketing office in Bangalore is integrated with a

sophisticated Design, Development and Sampling

infrastructure with advanced machines to create garment

samples as per customer specifications.

A showroom in the marketing office showcases a wide

range of garments created by the design team in multiple

fabric options for efficient customer interaction.

Veejay Lakshmi is also a part of the CLEAN DEVELOPMENT

MECHANISM project designed by the United Nations

Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)

under the Kyoto protocol, reducing greenhouse gas

emission, contributing to a cleaner environment.

Supporting the cause is a windmill farm, registered under

the CDM project of Tamilnadu Spinning Mills Association

(TASMA) in tie-up with Eco Securities, an organisation

specializing in commercialization of carbon credits.

With the objective of increasing the water table level,

Veejay Lakshmi has undertaken a project of de-silting a

120-acre lake in its neighborhood, apart from deepening

and making it fit for regular use.
