Desiree Maud Schutte (CEO) -Trained at the South African Academy of TechnologyIn Cape Town, and began her career in the clothing industry. Desiree joined the air conditioning industry during 1989 and developed Swift Air as one of the first female owner/dealer for Panasonic (in the top 10 Panasonic dealers)-(1989-1997). Established Air Goes air conditioning company which specializes in installations, maintenance, servicing and repairs, with maintenance agreements such as Bombela (Gautrain) and Schneider Electric. Desiree has been in the air conditioning industry for over 25 years

Joseph Maritz Schutte, known as Jos, co-owner, is a qualified Pilot (Captain) on Carrier as well as VIP aircraft. He qualified in 1982 and is a contract pilot at this time. Jos joined Swift Air in 1989 in sales and qualified in the air conditioning trade in 1989. Jos teaches the staff when in the country, em-parting skills to the staff.

BRIEF HISTORY

Air Goes cc was born in 2006. Desiree and Jos had been working on contracts in Nigeria for

MTN, installing precision air conditioning units into MTN Billing rooms and IT rooms for 2 1/2

years and returned to South Africa in 2005.

The niche in the market at that time was the specialized skills needed in the Maintenance,

Service and Repair of air conditioning units. There were many HVAC companies who supplied

and installed various HVAC units but the Maintenance thereof was neglected.

The opportunity arose for a Service company in this HVAC Industry in Midrand which Jos and

Desiree Schutte formed and developed by upskilling and training staff to fault find and repair of

air conditioning units, including Precision and Chiller systems. In 2010 Air Goes was invited to

tender (against 22 other HVAC companies) and won the Tender for the BOC, Bombela

Operating Company for the Preventative and Corrective Maintenance for 5 years of the HVAC

systems in the Office blocks, stations and tunnel of Gautrain. This encompassed the stations

from Johannesburg to Pretoria and Sandton to Ortia.

The staff grew from 3 staff to 25 staff this time.

Maintenance- The maintenance of all the various types of air conditioning is very important to

increase the lifespan and efficiency of the unit. Even refrigeration needs constant servicing to

ensure optimum performance and efficiency.

Repair and Service- Fault-finding and repair is imperative for return on investment for our

clients. Spares and backup service for cost effectiveness and productivity in the workplace.

Supply- New installations include sizing, designing and recommendations of options for specific

projects. For example: A precision air-conditioning unit is a definite choice for a server room,

data center or medical theatre. Comfort cooling for offices and home use. Refrigeration for

restaurants, hotels and canteens.

VISION

Air Goes cc believes in empowering people and therefore assist in the constant development

and training of our personnel. We keep abreast of the ongoing technology development in or

Industry (eg: Multi V systems, R410a gas, Inverters, non-Inverters, etc).

PRODUCTS, SERVICES AND SUPPLIERS:

Air Goes specializes in all industrial, office and residential applications. We believe in going

green, therefore offer low power consumption – and inverter units; saving electricity and

complying with World Standards in terms of gas – R410A gas is “greener” than R22.

Besides comfort cooling and refrigeration, Air Goes supplies and maintains precision air

conditioning units, heating systems, cooling systems, and refrigeration.

We are not brand linked however we are able to offer LG, SAMSUNG, ALLIANCE, DAIKIN, JET

AIR, INFINITY, GREE, MACLAREN and SIR AIR brands.

Our installation teams have specialized in Multi-V systems for LG specifically. Various types of

units we install, service, maintain and repair are window wall, mid wall, under ceiling split,

cassette splits, hideawaysplits and floor standing splits.

We keep our technical skills honed with ongoing training as technology keeps changing. Our

fleet of 8 vehicles are kitted out with equipment specialized in refrigeration and air conditioning

units. Spares are sourced from the various brands spares division when necessary. Air Goes cc

complies with the requirements of Merseta and MEIBC (Metal Industrial Bargaining Council).

DELIVERY PERFORMANCE AND RELIABILITY-

In line with the Gautrain SLA agreement, our performance regarding preventative and

corrective maintenance has never dipped under 96%. Our preventative Maintenance is ALWAYS

100%. The Corrective Maintenance is reliant on availability of Spares to enable our technical

teams to do the repairs. We respond within 24 hours once request has been logged onto our

system for scheduling of our technical team’s call out by the Operation Manager.

Preventative Maintenance is Planned annually and then implemented monthly.

Due to the economic climate many corporate companies service their air conditioning units

every 6 months. Air Goes, once the service is completed, gives an Asset List with the signed

Service Record, called the Job Sheet.

Desiree Schutte was involved with Midrand Child and Family Care Association since 2010.

Desiree became the Chairperson in 2013 and resigned the post in November 2014, however

staying on the Board of the NGO. We are part of the community and therefore give back to the

Midrand community through MCFCA (known as Child Welfare Midrand).

Air Goes also is involved with 2 other feeding schemes in Midrand as well as donate food to the

Midrand SPCA.
