INTRODUCTION

Inter Architects and Environmental Consultants was established in 2000. The firm began itsoperations in 2001 as providers of architectural consultancy services. The firm has since widenedits scope of services.

Inter now provides total building solutions from Initial design to Interior Achitecture,Environmental Studies & Project Management.In general, Inter provides the following services:-

i) Feasibility Studies,ii) Architectural Design services,iii) Planning And Interior Designsiv) Environmental Studies (Environmental Impact Assessments & Environmental Audits),v) Monitoring & Evaluation,vi) Project Management &vii) GIS Consultancy.

The firm is led by Mr. Patrick Mugo Karugo the Principal/Lead Expert of Inter Architectsalongside his partner Mr. Athman Noorein and other Associate Professionals in the field ofArchitecture and Environmental Studies. Inter Architects has 10 full-time staff and 1 part-timestaff.

The firm is committed to the new world order dedicated to the environment and its sustainabilityin line with the resolutions of Agenda 21.

2.6 Monitoring and Evaluation

MonitoringKey Issues:

• How well has the program been implemented• How much does the implementation vary from site to site• Did the program benefit the intended people?• At what cost• Is it a continuous process• Requires collection of data at multiple points through out the program cycle;

including at the beginning to provide baseline and• Can be used to determine if activities need adjustments during the intervention to

improve desired outcomes.

Evaluation/Impact Evaluation

Key Issues:• Data collection at the start and end of the program.• A control or comparison group in order to measure whether the changes in• outcomes can be attributed to the program and• A well planned study design
