HOW DO WE PROCESS?

Compared to wood, one of the primary advantages of using veneer is stability. While solid wood can be prone to warping and splitting, because veneer is made of thin layers of wood glued together, the chances of splitting or cracking are reduced. Further, the glue used provides additional strength, making the end result stronger than natural wood.

Initially, for manufacturing veneers,wooden logs are sliced into flitches with specific cutting methods to achieve a required grain pattern. Veneer flitches are then dried and graded. All these graded flitches undergo treatment: fumigation, dying and weathering.According to the clients requirements, the patterns and layouts are created by joining the flitches together. Once the layout is prepared, the sheet goes for pressing. Finally, the sheet goes through finishing procedure and quality check is done.The best quality products are labeled and packed for dispatch.

ABOUT THE RAW MATERIALS

BASE PLY

The base ply we use is 100% Gurjan Plywood and it is totally sourced from Myanmar (Burma).The base ply is very accurately calibrated with no thickness tolerance and error. Further only phenolic resins are used to make plywood waterproof.

BURR (Burl) veneers are end grain type growths which occur on some trees. Highly valued.

CROWN/FLAT CUT sliced veneer is cuttangentially to the grain. It displays an attractive figure of bold sweeping‘cathedral’ curves and oval along thecentre of the leaf, with striped grainnearer the edges.

ROTARY CUT veneer follows the annual growth rings and is used mainly in the production of plywood.
