The journey of 64Door Factory commenced in 2016 with the

connection of three wood industry professionals who met in

Tanzania working for East and Central Africa’s largest sawmill

and wood processing plant.

Together, they envisioned and developed 64Door Factory to

be a state-of-the art door solutions service provider backed

by a robust, high-tech manufacturing process. 64Door Factory

is a company like no other; it offers a one-stop-shop solution

for the design, manufacture, supply, and installation of door

leaf, frame, and all accessories with a quick, clean, and easy

ordering and installation process. 64Door Factory was setup

with the customer in mind and all the processes that realise

SMOOTHThe 64Door SmoothLine is the entry-point to the range of rich wood grain surface finishes on smooth melamine continuous pressed laminate that is impact and scratch resistant. This line is very suitable for middle to high end buildings where the wooden feel is essential with a taste of style. The door sets in this range come with 64Door Factory standard fittings but are also fully customizable to fittings of your choice.

OPENThe Openline product range takes the wooden look and feel to a new level by introducing a sense of texture to the door surface by use of scratch and impact resistant high pressure melamine laminate. If you are looking to get a balance of the natural yet sophisticated look for wood, then the OpenLine range offers exactly that. This line is very suitable for middle to high end residentials, offices, hotels, commercial spaces, and any high-traffic areas.

The Walnut finish is full of rich beautiful colour that

Cherry colour tones make interior decorating feel

cozier and warmer since it tends towards elegant

warm tones. This piece has less of a pink tone to it and

Wenge is a rich brown colour with copper undertones

and a medium brown heartwood with occasional

reddish or yellowish hues topped by nearly black

streaks. The embossed grain is straight, with a coarse

texture.

Wenge is available in open pore melamine HPL

(high pressure laminate) on 3mm HDF (high density

fibreboard). The open pore HPL surface has a smooth

and polished feel while still maintaining a distinctly

tridimensional linear wood grain texture to the touch.

With the stunning Oregon Pine you can create a

refreshing and clean look in your space. This light

tone can be used to create an airy, pure, and quiet

appearance. Oregon Pine can be combined with

MATERIALS USED IN OUR DOOR MANUFACTURING PROCESSES

The 64Door Factory semi-solid door panels have a honeycomb core surrounded by a finger-jointed solid wood frame. The structural honeycomb material made from thick cardboard or carton is manufactured by creating a repeated array of hollow hexagonal cells (honeycomb) and layering this array between two sheets that provide strength in tension, while the hollow cells provide strength in compression. The geometry of the honeycomb structure allows the assembly to achieve optimal strength-to-weight ratios while also generating lower material costs - this is what makes honeycomb such a widely used material. The semi-solid doors from 64Door Factory are manufactured with a high density honeycomb core that ensures the door is structurally stable while remaining light weight and functional.

Particle Board

Particle board is an engineered wood product manufactured from wood chips, sawmill shavings, or even sawdust, and a synthetic resin or other suitable binder, which are pressed and extruded into sheets. The sheets are then combined and compressed into boards under pressures between 2 and 3 megapascals and temperatures between 140 and 220 °C. This process sets and hardens the binder before the boards are finally trimmed and sanded. Particle board is cheaper, denser and more uniform than conventional wood and plywood making a it a very suitable material for door in-fill. Solid doors from 64Door Factory use this material as the core which makes the door fully solid as well as noise reducing due to the high density of the particle board.

Perlite Board

Perlite Board is used by 64Door Factory to achieve certified fire rated doors. Made from expanded perlite, fibres and binders, perlite board provides the ideal fire resistant inlay within fire doors. It exhibits key properties such as good fire behaviour but also lightness, stiffness and long service life, making it an ideal construction material. Perlite is a naturally occurring amorphous volcanic stone. It is so environmentally safe it is even used to filter drinking water. Through a high tech manufacturing process, perlite is ground into granules, expanded and then mixed with cellulose fibers, glass fibers, binders and special additives. The resulting conglomerate is formed into sheets of varying thickness which are cut into boards with constant dimensions.

Medium-density fibreboard (MDF) is an engineered wood

product made by breaking down hardwood or softwood

residuals into wood fibres, combining them with wax and a resin

binder, and forming panels by applying high temperature and

pressure.MDF is generally denser than plywood. It is most often

used as a building material similar in application to plywood.

There are a number of reasons why MDF may be used instead

of plywood or chipboard. It is dense, flat, stiff, has no knots

and is easily machined. Because it is made up of fine particles

it does not have an easily recognisable surface grain. MDF can

be painted to produce a smooth quality surface. Because MDF

has no grain it can be cut, drilled, machined and filed without

damaging the surface.

MDF

Hardboard, also called high-density fiberboard (HDF) is an engineered wood product. It is similar to particle board and medium-density fiberboard, but is denser and much stronger and harder because it is made out of exploded wood fibers that have been highly compressed.It differs from particle board in that the bonding of the wood fibers requires no additional materials, although resin is often added. Unlike particle board, HDF does not split or crack. In addition, unlike solid wood, HDF is very homogeneous with no grain making it a very stable material.

DOOR LEAF OVERLAY BOARD TYPES

Continuous Pressed Laminate (CPL) is a class of external

decorative panelling made from special printed paper

impregnated with resin layers and pressed under low pressure

and high temperature. The upper decorative surface is covered

with a transparent film which gives the surface scratch and

wear resistance. CPL panels have wide applicability in a range

of sectors, such as interior design,, building, and transportation.

CPL is aesthetically superior to foils, topcoat papers, and vinyl

with a high degree of colour variations and clarity. It has low

surface marring, high impact, moisture and chemical resistance,

excellent machinability, and is easy to clean - making it a very

ideal material for door overlays.

DOOR FRAME COMPOSITE WOOD MATERIAL

High Pressure Laminate, like CPL is designed as a external

decorative surface. High Pressure Laminate or HPL, is considered

to be one of the most durable decorative surface materials

and is available with special performance properties including

chemical, fire and wear resistance. So how is HPL different from

CPL you may ask. HPL is manufactured via a high pressure/

high temperature lamination process, while CPL is laminated

under low pressure. This results in variations in performance

particularly in terms of strength and ease of installation.

Although the laminate structure and the resins used are more

or less the same for the two types of laminate, the resin layer in

HPL is thicker which enables the embossment of tridimensional

wood grain textures on the HPL top surface, compared to CPL

which has a smooth top surface.

High Pressure Laminate (HPL)

Plywood

Plywood is a sheet material manufactured by combining layers

of wood veneer which are glued together. Each adjoining layer

is rotated up to 90 degrees in a process called cross-graining.

Why is this done? The major reason is that it gives the product

super strength. Thanks to cross-graining plywood is able to

resist splitting when nailed at the edges, minimise expansion

Blockboard is made up of a core of softwood stripsasd that

are . These strips may be up to about 25mm wide. The strips

are placed edge to edge and sandwiched between veneers of

hardwood. The sandwich is then glued under high pressure to

form a solid board that has very good resistance to warping.

All 64Door Factory interior door frames are designed for long lasting performance and easy installation. The door frames are veneered

straight frames, made with 5 layers of block board, 3 layers of 3mm plywood with moisture content of 10%, then wrapped with CPL or

HPL. This composite wood design is much stronger than pure solid timber and ensures the door frame will not twist, warp, or bend in

service. The solid wood frame also includes a PVC/Rubber seal for sound and weather proofing.

Architrave is a form of interior moulding that is featured in most houses, offices and other buildings. In this case, it is the strip of

material that is used to cover the transitions between surfaces (in this case, the wall and door frame). The architrave from 64Door

Factory is made from veneered adjustable plywood wrapped with CPL or HPL.

Skirting is a wooden board that runs along the base of an interior wall to conceal the joining between the wall and the floor. The skirting

from 64Door Factory is made from plywood wrapped with CPL. 64Door Factory has skirting to match all door colours which connects

the finish of the doors to the finish of the skirting giving the building interior greater design harmony.
