work of weeding for the 250 saplings planted in the SEZ was given to 4 community members from nearby village for 4 days

• Conducted Free Animal Husbandry camp (Infertility-cum-total-Veterinary Health Care Camp ) in collaboration with Animal Husbandry Department on 23.07.2011 at Kulathupalayam village near Coimbatore SEZ – total 450 small and big animals were examined and treated benefiting 40 families. A team of 4 doctors and medicines were provided by AHD and we provided conveyance and organizing other resources as well as informing and collecting community members

• Wealth out of Waste training was conducted for the 222 students at K. Rayarpalayam Panchayat middle school – the training included segregation and minimization of waste, and how it can cause harmful situation if not taken proper care

Padubidri SEZ• Under our Edde Arogya program, nutritional packets were distributed to TB

• In Village Palimar, 160 saplings were distributed and environment education was imparted to women members of SKRDP SHG Federation – the event was covered by local newspapers

• A session on Yoga Meditation was conducted for 12 employees of units on SEZ

• HIV testing and counseling for migrant labourers was conducted in collaboration with Tenka Yermal Sub Centre in which 42 labourers got tested for HIV after the awareness session

Waghodia SEZ• 27 self-help group meetings were conducted in July• 48 SHG leaders were trained in forming a cooperative

• 87 women are involved in various income generation activities• 29 adolescent girls were trained in making sanitary napkins• 600 saplings were planted in 6 villages around the SEZ in coordination

with Forest Department in which Synefra employees, school teachers and students as well as community members participated – the Forest Department gave 150 saplings free of cost, the garden contractor donated 50 saplings and the rest Synefra contributed
