Compact Production Sampler Bottomhole sampling solution for production logging and slickline applications The Compact Production Sampler is a mercury-free, positive-displacement bottomhole reservoir fluid sampling tool that captures conventional bottom- hole samples. It is electrically actuated and modular and can be integrated into any Schlumberger production logging operation. The sampler uses exist- ing planned production logging interventions and thus eliminates the need for a separate wireline intervention to collect reservoir fluid during real time or memory production logging. The sampler’s through-wired design allows the tool to be run in any section of the PS Platform* production logging string (slickline or electric line conveyed) or in any section of a memory production logging string that has eFire* electronic actuation capabilities. Its design allows a fullbore flowmeter to be run simultaneously at the bottom of the PS Platform* production logging string. The sampler does not interfere with any existing tool configuration. Because the system can be surface fired, there is no need to pull out of hole to reset the time delay, and minimum downtime is required. The surface actuation is especially valuable in these two situations: when bottomhole samplers are run on coiled tubing or wireline with a tractor in horizontal wells when actuation by time delay risks wasting time in the hole or requiring a rerun if the tools do not reach the appropriate sampling depth before the sample is collected. The small sample remains in the chamber, which incorporates an integral agitation device. The sample can be shipped for quick testing by the PVT Express onsite well fluid analysis service or for testing by one of the PVT laboratories in the Schlumberger global network. APPLICATIONS Obtaining bottomhole water samples for water resistivity analysis and water injector well tracer analysis Obtaining routine PVT data cost-effectively by using the PVT Express* onsite well fluid analysis service Obtaining fluid properties versus depth to validate production logs Obtaining samples for enhanced oil recovery studies Investigating fluid plugs in the wellbore Obtaining samples for geochemical analysis from different zones for production allocation BENEFITS Obtains more, higher-quality data with no additional time to run FEATURES Single or multiple samplers for slickline or electric line Highly selective sampling performed in real time during production logging Flexibility to run anywhere on the production logging string Multiple actuation modes Modular, through-wired design Positive displacement operation Integral agitation device Buffer fluid Sample fluid www.slb.com/welltesting *Mark of Schlumberger Copyright © 2007 Schlumberger. Compact Production SamplerBottomhole sampling solution for productionlogging and slickline applicationsThe Compact Production Sampler is a mercury-free, positive-displacementbottomhole reservoir fluid sampling tool that captures conventional bottom-hole samples. It is electrically actuated and modular and can be integratedinto any Schlumberger production logging operation. The sampler uses exist-ing planned production logging interventions and thus eliminates the needfor a separate wireline intervention to collect reservoir fluid during real timeor memory production logging.

The sampler’s through-wired design allows the tool to be run in any sectionof the PS Platform* production logging string (slickline or electric line conveyed)or in any section of a memory production logging string that has eFire*electronic actuation capabilities. Its design allows a fullbore flowmeter tobe run simultaneously at the bottom of the PS Platform* production loggingstring. The sampler does not interfere with any existing tool configuration.

Because the system can be surface fired, there is no need to pull out ofhole to reset the time delay, and minimum downtime is required. The surfaceactuation is especially valuable in these two situations: when bottomhole samplers are run on coiled tubing or wireline with

a tractor in horizontal wells when actuation by time delay risks wasting time in the hole or requiring

a rerun if the tools do not reach the appropriate sampling depth beforethe sample is collected.

The small sample remains in the chamber, which incorporates an integralagitation device. The sample can be shipped for quick testing by the PVT Express onsite well fluid analysis service or for testing by one of the PVT laboratories in the Schlumberger global network.
