Community Service Options

What is community service? As yourself these questions to determine if your activity qualifies as community service.

You should be able to answer “Yes!” to all the questions!

1. Did the community-at-large benefit in ways that could not have happened otherwise?

2. Did you give service to those less fortunate, sick, etc.?

3. Did your service just take the place of what is usually paid work (NOT community service) or did your service

provide something that would not have been there otherwise?

4. Did your service have a significant impact on others?

5. Do you feel your time and talents were valuable to others?

There are TONS of organizations out there for children, veterans, veterans’ children, homeless people, single moms &

kids, food programs, health concerns (cancer, breast cancer, diabetes, etc.), autism, illiteracy, genocide, and much, much

more. HOWEVER, please choose an organization that has relevance close to home. As worthy and important a cause is

that helps homeless people in India or Africa, a cause that helps homeless people in Central Florida would be a little

more relevant.
