1 Community Service Grant Project Proposal Rubric Beginning (1) Developing (2) Accomplished (3) Exemplary (4) Campus Impact UO students learn about the related social need The project makes no effort to prepare or educate participants as to the work they will be doing, nor the social issue. The project prepares participants for the work, or educates them regarding the social issue, but not both. The project prepares participants for the work and educates them regarding the social issue by providing one reflection or training opportunity, either before or after the service activity. The project prepares participants for the work and educates them on the social issue in at least one training session AND at least one guided reflection activity. Number of UO students involved The project engages myself and a few other group members, classmates or friends. The project engages many UO students from a group or groups that I usually partner with for other activities. The project engages a large number of UO students from more than one other group, and/or reaches out to students and groups that we don’t usually work with. The project engages diverse groups and individuals on campus who may not usually work together. Community Impact Mutually beneficial relationship We came up with the idea for this project and just need a community group to sign off on it. We came up with the idea for this project and gave our community partners a chance to ask questions, give input, etc. before submitting our application. We came up with the seed idea for this project and worked closely with our community partner to be sure the work would meet a real need of theirs. We approached our community partner with the idea and we worked together to develop a project that would meet a real need of theirs, while at the same time being a great educational experience for us and other student participants. Number of community members engaged The project requires the engagement of only one individual from our community partner organization. Our contact person at our community partner organization will need to ask his or her colleagues to work with us. Many members of our community partner organization’s staff have bought in to the idea for this project and are enthusiastically participating. Many members of our community partner organization’s staff, volunteers, and the recipients of our service are engaged in the planning and execution of our project.
