THE SCHEME WILL DELIVER
• A new two storey primary school providing early years accommodation and a multi-use games area;

• High-quality open space with newly created east-west and north-south pedestrian routes through the site; and
• A new pedestrian route linking Queenstown Road and Battersea Park stations.

Network Rail may also be operating on site during the construction period. With this in mind, there may be some disturbance caused as a result of maintenance works to the train lines running through the site.

There was plenty of progress in 2015. The demolition works are near completion and the overall programme remains on schedule.

FollowingourfirstNeighbourhoodLiaisonGroupand as part of our commitment to engaging with our neighboursandthelocalcommunity,wewouldliketoinviteyoutoattendournextmeetingscheduledto take place at St Mary’s Roman Catholic Primary School, Lockington Rd, SW8 4BE on Thursday 3rd March at 7pm.
The meetings take place quarterly and provide the opportunity to hear directly from the contractors on what works are taking place, as well as ask questions relating to the development.

TheBatterseaExchangesiteissignedup to the Considerate Constructors Scheme which is a national initiative setupbytheConstructionIndustryto improve its image and implement a code of considerate practice designed toencouragebestpracticebeyondstatutory requirements.
TaylorWimpeyCentralLondonispleasedtobedevelopingabrandnewschoolbuildingforStMary’s Roman Catholic Primary School as part of the development. Working with the Pump HouseGallery,basedinBatterseaPark,aspartofitsOutHouseprogramme,artistOrlyOrbachhasbeencommissionedtoworkinresidencyattheschooltocreateartworkonsite.
Duringthespringterm,Orlywilltransformthehoardingsaroundtheschoolintoacollaborativesketchbook.Workingwithpupilsandteachers,Orlywillbeseekingtofinddifferentwaysofrepresenting and visualising time as well as documenting the landscape, and creating new narratives.
Theprojectwillexplorehowdifferentperceptionsoftimecanshapethewayastoryunfoldsina space. The hoarding will record layers of changing sketches, marks and ideas from which the finalhoardingartworkwillemerge.Thehoardingartworkisscheduledtobecompletedforthissummer, so that the children can enjoy the artwork playing outside in the summer months.
